you don't have to make a definitive decision whether to keep playing or not. Just play when you feel like it.

sourceguess you guys are right, I feel stupid making this post. Although what can I do in tf2 besides pubs and mge if I cant play comp

what are you playing for? why must you stop playing tf2 if you cant play comp? there are lots of players in tf2 that have never touched comp tf2 and continue to play this game.

if you like mge then nothings stopping you from continuing playing mge

If you live in a strict house hold and can't join mumble just play tf2center.com
It's not too good but it might keep you interested until you can find a new place to play

im having more fun right now playing pugs and pubs than i ever had playing competitive. if its not convenient for you to play comp dont play it. dont make the mistake i did and prioritize a video game over work/school/relationships for years because its taken me another 2 years to fix what i destroyed and get back what i lost. find a healthy balance and dont make commitments that will get in the way of more important things.

Some lobbies don't require mumble.

You can still play TF2 a lot and not be able to play matches due to schedules.

Like me. Fucking time zones.

As long as you feel like you want to improve, you should probably go for it. Bad equipment sure isnt great but no reason to give up early. Not having much time is probably the biggest issue, if you want to play in a league, you have to make sure that you atleast have free time consistently on a a specific day each week.
Matchmaking is only realy relevant if you are new to comp, otherwise just play lobbies/its alternatives.
And improving with different classes is pretty much just a matter of grinding. Pubs is the way to go in the early stages but playing against better players is allways helpful
