This is just insane and makes everyone's computer look like a toaster!

The 15 minute video is well worth the watch

Would've been cooler to see how it performed as a single pc, obviously seven way crossfire wouldn't work but the 54thread CPU would've been mad

You could build 7 high end PCs with those money and still be able to afford a couple of hookers.

So for <£40k you could run a 6v6 LAN that can be carried around in the back of one car? Amusing idea however impractical.

I think with slightly less money and maybe the same amount of work, you could get 7 equivalent gaming PCs and an appropriately sized underground chamber in your garden with power and lan access to hold them.

Edit it still looks kickass though

they already did a 72 thread PC, so there's that

probably somewhere in the 200~ region, at least until the game gets optimized.

What we really need is to see a benchmark of a LN2 refrigerated 6700k @ 6 GHz

TF2 is bottlenecked by single-threaded CPU performance, and I don't think it even supports 2 gpu crossfire let alone 4, so those Xeons would actually not perform that well. It would still get good FPS of course, but I reckon you could build a $500 i5 PC that would outperform it for TF2.

Imagine trying to overclock it:

you can't overclock xeons anyways and I'm pretty sure that 1600W PSU can't even handle the overclocking Nanos

He said the PSU was already at just above 1500 W under full load, Over clocking would most likely put it above 1600 W

Max_He said the PSU was already at just above 1500 W under full load, Over clocking would most likely put it above 1600 W

The ~1540W power draw that was shown in the video was AC power consumed from the wall. The PSU is a 1600W continuous output rated Titanium rated power supply with a minimum of 90% efficiency @ 100% load. If the unit performs according to specs, it can draw ~1780W from the wall. So there is still over ~200W of wiggle room. If the cards are cool enough, they could probably do a mild OC on each card.

TF2 does utilize multi-GPUs and multithreading (not super well but it does). I remember having to play fullscreen to use a crossfire setup for good fps
