Just curious to see if there are any others in the community who practice archery.
If you do, what kind of bow do you use, what do you use it for, etc,.
I've been doing Instinctive archery with a recurve bow for about 8 months. Probably my favorite outdoor activity.

I got really into it for a little while and was going to get a decent bow but I had nowhere to practice it really anyway.

I love Archery! Picked it up as a hobby a few years ago, my bow is a 62" recurve. Unfortunately, when I moved from WV to DC, I no longer had a large backyard in the woods to practice in. So now my bow collects dust. ;_; There's ranges I could go to, but none of them are nearby which kind of sucks. Hoping to get back into it someday.

one of my irl friends was national champion and european vice champion or something back when we were in high school. It was quite an expensive hobby from what I gathered.

I've done it for 2 years, but I quit when I was 15 because all other "junior" members left and it took out the fun for me, I owned quite an expensive recurve bow but eventually I just sold it and bought my current pc lol

I mostly did indoor shooting, but with nice weather we went into a large meadow with moving targets as well, overall it's really nice to feel where your arrow is going after a while purely based on feeling/experience with your bow

PankeymanI used to be amazing back when I was 12. I won a lot of weekly challenge shots.

If I was going to take up some kind of missile or projectile sport I'd rather do guns. I would like to hunt some wild game and make it into all kinds of delicious food thanks to the magic of freezer technology. Deer and moose are really good but I want to try bear and elk as well.

You can do all that with a bow as well.

did it when i was young, was a lot of fun!
quit because i really liked using a longbow & hated compound bows while everyone else started to migrate over to compound bows. You really just cant compete with that

Yeah, I have two older brothers that both shoot compound, but for me traditional archery is just so much more fun and challenging. You actually feel accomplished when you hit a perfect bulls-eye.
