Hi everyone, skill_detector here. Since gotfrag is basically back, I'd like to welcome the new era of TF2 drama with some skill detections.

You will be graded 1-10, 1 meaning you should be at the bottom of open and 10 being you should be on a top invite team.

If you post and I don't know you/you don't play in ESEA, i'll skip you.

Thanks!

SalamancerI play pug.na medic. That's about it. Rate my shit.

Salamancer: Although your lack of league experience shows in your play, your overall game knowledge is surprisingly strong. You generally have a good idea of what's going on in the game, but you struggle with leading your team (pug team) as a medic and maintaining good positioning. If you take a few seconds every so often in game to just think about your positioning and ask yourself if it's a good idea to be there, I think you'd find yourself not dying to things you shouldn't die to.

defiancecan enigma confirm that this is the original skill_detector?

gimme one

Defiance: You're starting to understand the game a lot better than you used to, but there several areas of your game you can improve on. If you started to just MGE/DM a little bit each day, you'll notice yourself not losing easy 1v1 situations and in general you'll be more confident making decisions knowing that you can hit your shots. I think you're a decently smart player, but if you don't communicate your ideas and your logic to your team, you'll often get separated and die for no reason. Make sure that your team understands what's going through your head, so everyone's on the same page.

PlatinumDo me soldier // demo. WB gotfrag

Platinum: I rated you on gotfrag as soldier, and you haven't really depreciated in skill so I'll just talk about your demo. It was surprising to me that you were able to switch classes so easily and perform just as strong as the other top demo (b4nny). I believe your ability to switch classes can really be attributed to how intelligent you are as a player. You're able to analyze a situation quickly and figure out what the best move is for you and your team. Few other players are able to think and react like you do (and it seems you've snagged them all up for your superteam).
9.7/10 on demo
9.9/10 on soldier

cinqDo me Mr detector.

Cinq: The short and sweet answer as to why you're not on a good team is because you simply don't play the game enough. I think your basic mechanics are strong and your communication skills are great, but you struggle with positioning and uber timings. The thing is though, you can improve your faults so easily if you just play more and find a team of players that will stick around and help you improve. On another note, I love your personality and it seems like you bring a positive vibe to whatever team/scenario you're in. Cinq, play IM for a season, and you'll become much better as a player.

Unf: You've been playing this game for a very long time and you're starting to get recognized as an invite level demo. I think that if you want to actually improve, you should start to think more about your positioning and your comms. You have a habit of overextending at the wrong times and getting picked off, which can easily result in a round loss if a team rolls forward. Your DM is pretty strong compared to the other top demos, but until you're able to position yourself as intelligently as b4nny or platinum can, you'll always be severely outshined. Part of this is on your scouts though, they tend to play by themselves and leave you to die a lot. This comes down to communication, if you think you're going to get fucked, you have to communicate to your scouts. I think if you genuinely put effort into fixing your positioning throughout this season, you'll be a top level demo.

Mangachugimmie one

Mangachu: A solid new soldier coming into the scene with pretty strong DM and rj-movement. I think he would be a solid roamer for any IM team if he had more experience in ESEA, perhaps one more season in open to refine his skills would do him well. Although mangachu is a strong 1v1 player, he often uses the ol' "spadez mentality" where you try to treat every situation like you would in a pug. Try to work with your teammates a bit more and follow their comms, because even if it's successful to play the way you do in open/pugs, that shit won't fly if you're playing against a decent IM team.

fosterhey ^_^

Foster: I really like this guy's style. It's basically a lower-level clockwork, focusing on strong DM and aptly timed aggression. I think foster has the potential to be a really strong player provided he smooths out his aim a bit. The one problem with these "clockwork-esque" players is they lack consistency in their DM skills and go on tilt if they don't get the same results every game. Learn to adapt to a situation where you can't just carry your team and focus on choosing the right positioning ALL the time, rather than just when you think you're going to make a play. Other than making yourself an all-around better player, focusing on your teamwork skills will make yourself more useful to higher level teams once you get there (you will).
7.2/10 (top half of im, you're on track though)
