this game looks like it could be a lot of fun if it has a solid pricetag.

The combat and hitreg in borderlands even online was always pretty good considering all of the random shit being rendered on the map and animations at any given time.

The biggest struggle of this game will probably be server performance but if theyre not looking for it to be 'competitive' it could be a legitimately fun game. I mean theres a half-man/half-falcon with a rocket launcher.

its 2k and gearbox so this is more than likely going to die with a $60 price tag.

If theyre smart they'll sell it for 30 and add paid skins. Hopefully they learned something with Evolve being the biggest flop of 2015

I like the art style of this a lot more than overwatch but isn't overwatch supposed to be f2p? I don't really see this being a competitor tbh

I trust Gearbox with making an FPS a lot more than Blizzard.

It looks like Destiny - Gearbox Edition.

A lot of people I've played these kinds of games with are tired of the PICK ONE OF X CLASSES WITH MULTIPLE REDUNDANCIES BETWEEN SEVERAL OF THEM TO GET ON THE MOB GRIND FOR NOT-GARBAGE WEAPONRY AND ARMOR trend but apparently the console audience isn't.

Found an interview with Gearbox about Battleborn. There is one part that worries me though...

https://youtu.be/i0AfBiTQixw?t=3m26s

It seems that, much like Overwatch, they don't necessarily care for mechanical skill.

people need to understand that mechanical skill isnt something you want in a game if you want to make money
people dont wanna spend hours grinding a game to get good aim and movement, they wanna play a game to have fun and feel good and put as little time into improvement as possible.

IncoIt seems that, much like Overwatch, they don't necessarily care for mechanical skill.

a) Appealing to the console audience and lowest common denominator (pubstompers who don't want to leave the fish bowl, people who buy cosmetics and think that's the only part of the game, etc) gets sales

b) Randy Pitchford is quite honestly an awful human being who doesn't really care about making a good game, just one that makes money

I would actually like to see something from Gearbox that has the style of Half-Life: Opposing Force and Blue Shift, those games were really fun, even as only expansion packs for Half-Life

Bumping this old thread because the Closed "Technical Beta" is happening and I got in right away when signing up. Worth trying if you're desperate to play another fps/moba mashup beta. There's an NDA though...

Yes Battleborn makes all the people who liked to say OW had moba characteristics silly. There's leveling and minions and plushy green environments.
