Get zowie.
Otherwise if you're looking for familiar shape of mouse, go for g502 as Comanglia said. It's a pretty neat mouse, well build and have a nice sensor.

+1 for the g502. only problems I've ever had with it is that if you turn on surface tuning the sensor will fuck up and fling itself in random directions.
also the scroll wheel is not very good, and it's quite heavy compared to other mice.

The MX518 is subpar compared to most of it's successors. G400 v2, g400s, g402 after updates I have no idea why'd you would recommend the MX518 over any of the newer ones...

AuraMixSince my mouse Logitech G500s is being on it's last legs, I need help choosing a mouse. Anyone got suggestions?

Whats wrong with the mouse? How is it on its "last legs." Usually when people say something like this, the mouse cord is shorted out and needs to be replaced. If it sometimes stops working for a second or two then its probably the cord.

If so, you can remove the mouse feet then there will be a few screws under them. Then buy a little kit like this for $10: http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-quality-Logitech-G500-G500S-G5-Mice-USB-mouse-cable-Line-Mouse-Feet-/301671367561?hash=item463d03c389

And you can unplug the old cord plug the new one in, put the screws back in and then put the new mouse feet on. Even if you do plan on upgrading mice, it might not be a bad idea to repair your old one and keep it as a backup if possible.

Well recently while playing TF2, I noticed my aim will just freeze in-game then I'll hear a jingle noise (Disconnect sound) on my PC. I just assumed it was nothing as it reconnected within a few seconds, but it keeps persisting whenever I just idle on my PC. I tried re-installing the drivers, it didn't help and place it on different port, didn't help. So I expected my mouse was about to die and was thinking to get a new one.

Sounds like a faulty cord. It shouldn't be too hard to fix, you just have to replace the cord. Here's a video explaining what to do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIC8p3CGEQg

Yep, that disconnect sound would indicate a short that caused the mouse to disconnect from the USB port (same effect as unplugging the mouse for a second then plugging it back in). The most cords on most mice just tend to give out after a couple years worth of gaming. My old MX518 mouse lasted about 3 years before the cord started randomly shorting out.

I was in a pinch to get it working again, so I had an old HP optical mouse, which turns out to be OEM'ed by logitech. I opened it up, and used it as a donor mouse. I swapped that cord into the logitech MX518. 5 pin plug and was good to go for another year until that cord went out (it was relatively thin). The OEM cords, especially the braided ones should last a decent while. Later I just bought an OEM cord on ebay for like $6. But now that mouse is just a backup one.
