It's not bad, it's very good actually, but it's not as impressive as One when it was released :/

so i am pretty sure i've secured an invite from oneplus, i won one of the google cardboards for the launch and they effed up the shipping so i've guilted them into trying to get me an invite...but with doing some more research the moto x style (pure) looks pretty damn good as well. thoughts?

Congrats on getting an invite

I havent heard much on the moto x, but it is slightly more expensive than the OP2, although it does have a better screen and perhaps a slightly better camera, it also has slightly inferior internals

I really do like that it has expandable flash storage though

I'd wait to see how the Moto X turns out. The only things last year's model was lacking were a decent battery and camera, both of which seem to be fixed this time around. I'd say the tradeoff of gaining quick charging but losing the fingerprint scanner (compared to the OPT) is worth it, maybe not for you though.
Another option would be to wait for this year's Nexus devices. There have only been rumors so far, but if they turn out to be true they will be pretty impressive phones. Plus being Nexus phones, you'll have basically the same flexibility and options for customization you had with the OPO.

it's definitely an option the only problem is that i'm not waiting like a normal person, i've been operating my phone with a friggin compact bluetooth fold keyboard and an OTG usb cable mouse...touch screen is broken lol. So i really don't want to wait until what could possibly be late october. At this point i think it's whichever comes first, oneplus 2 invite or moto X (sept 3) is which i'll go with.

Anyone hear about the robin from nextbit? Former phone designers teamed up on this, the cloud storage is a really neat feature and the specs are on point.

cloud storage thing seems pretty cool (although they don't really talk enough about how it works in detail from what i've seen), but i cant take a phone that looks like that seriously

What's wrong with it? The no curve design was one of the things that sold me.

I finally made it home.
With me being sick and likely to be on the toilet for the next few hours now is the time to give my input.

1+1=2

No NFC which sucks dick.
Uses the 810 SOC which has mega bad heating issues which they said they have fixed by under clocking it.

The only other problem with this phone is that like with the previous one, hardware reliability could be poor, you're also getting it from a small manufacturer so the RMA process might be long winded based on your location.

Still good for the price though. Might be worth waiting for the new nexus phones to.

Battery takes forever to charge and that sucks but other than that this phone is cool.
Anybody know what you're supposed to do to setup fingerprints? Each time I try it just stays at 0% no matter how many times I try putting my thumb there.

Just a heads up for people currently looking into this phone, the nexus 5x, moto x pure/play, and even the old nexus 6 with its new $350 price tag are much better options than this phone in the ~$400 android phone market.

This should be out soon. Best phone for price out there if you can deal with a 5.95 display.

seems almost too good to be true, at that pricepoint the specs are pretty insane, the processor isn't exactly up to scratch but with Android being a lot more efficient it may not matter.

I can only assume that the casing is made out of pasta for it to be that cheap

Its actually just a rebrand of a 4-5 month old Chinese phone, like most BLU phones are

Its the Gionee Elife E8, which has a full metal body actually. This price point isn't uncommon for Chinese phones they are always way ahead of the curve.
