I am very happy you guys enjoyed your experience!

With regard to the bracket format; double elimination is still in development and we plan to bring that to you as soon as it becomes available. :)

We are working to bring more events in and as mentioned above and are looking heavily at skill grouping. This should alleviate some of the pain from early knockouts, but doesn't really solve the lack of play issue.

Prizing is really the major facet that is preventing more events from occurring. If there is enough interest it would not be an issue to hold a lot more events without prizing. The concern in doing that though is that we do not have enough participants to make the event worth while for those that do attend.

With that said, if you are interested in simply playing let me know. If it seems there is enough interest I will get some tournaments created.

Again, a huge thanks for the feedback. Please keep it coming, it helps us to build the platform you want to play on, that is after all the main objective.

I was trying to think of how to more signups for this event. Maybe getting it put on the Upcomming Events sidebar for every tourney? It is the off season for ESEA(and etf2l too i think?) so hopefully once that starts up more teams will be around to play

Really good show from EU when prem players get mad of mid players making some kind of hold

Is there some way to have double elimination in the cup? I don't think most Mid/IM guys who participate in these cups have always planned to win them when they sign up, but more like to have fun and play against somewhat actual teams instead to play for the prize money. At least that's how I've experienced this, many teams always join these planning to have fun while they get rolled in their first round to a Prem/Invite team and then play again in next Wednesday/Sunday, not good.

I understand that it's some achievement to get to play against a team that is in a higher skill level than your team, but if they start to bash on the people they are rolling then that's eliminating all the fun for everybody except the winners.

I agree with the double elim, as dilusive has said he's possibly working on it.

Not sure why you felt the need to try and create some drama in this thread though, it's not gonna serve any purpose besides derailing so maybe refrain from doing that here. (That sucks that happened to your team, not defending anyone just don't derail with drama)

Ah, sorry about that. Personally I just felt like that even with the prize money involved in these cups it doesn't mean that other teams aren't allowed to have fun either in their own way, only to get bashed by better players through the in-game chat.

Thalash was mad because you were running full time pyro/heavy/sniper. If you call that "making a hold" then you're obviously taking the piss. I get you're having fun, and it's good to sign up, but I don't think it's unusual to get annoyed at playing vs 3 offclasses at mid/2nd etc.

In terms of the actual cup all it needs is more signups from mid/high teams to make it worthwhile for them to compete. I don't understand why lower teams will constantly refuse to participate in cups when they aren't 100% guaranteed to win. It's completely dumb. Kudos to your team for signing up and playing.

You ran sniper/heavy/pyro to middle, one mid you even decided not to go to mid and just hold 2nd with a shit ton of off classes. Pretty sure we pushed into last once and you guys had 0 soldiers and 0 scouts.

You guys are not the first team to do this either, instead of giving up before you've even connected to the server, atleast try and make it an enjoyable experience for both teams playing. Who knows, maybe you'd learn something from playing vs a good team.

So apparently classes that are allowed to be used in 6v6 config are looked down upon just because people are using them against better players? I don't see the point in actually taking it to yourself that badly if people are preventing you from steamrolling in 7 minutes with offclasses, that you did die to after all.

From what I saw in your view, I don't think the offclasses alone made the game such a huge pain for you as you kept treating them like a joke and then had a combat medic on the go, and still you got pushed all the way to your last because of that even.
Outside the classes and how people played in general, only some of you put up a good show against us to show how the game should be played and what to learn about and what to fix for the future.

Don't want to go too far with this topic since it's not that important enough to clutter a thread where it wasn't supposed to be talked in about, unlike the one in ETF2L which doesn't exactly mention about announcing the whole cups in general, my mistake and I apologize for that.
Carry on if you will and good luck for people in NA tonight in the cup as well.

These cups have been run near flawlessly compared to other tf2 tournaments, I would like to know why they have received so little support from the community. Razer Arena has provided cash prizes, catered there servers and configs to tf2 players, Along with implementing entirely new features (logs.tf integration for this coming Sundays cup) .The website is not flawless but compared to cevo and esea lets be real it miles ahead, Any problems that arise are solved quickly by professional admins compared that to cevo lol. The last cup, yesterday had only 5 teams signed up for the NA tournament. If there is any reason the up coming tournament on Sunday should not have a full 16 teams signed up I would love to hear it. I honestly don't think most of the community understands the scope of what Razer Arena has provided us with.

If the full 16 teams sign up its very unlikely you will face an invite team, even if you do there are 2 cups every week. The thing I remember from being in open and later im is how hard it is to get im / invite teams to setup scrims with you. The razor cups are a great chance to play people that would not normally scrim you. If you have players on your team not interested in improving consider roster changes before not playing in the razor cups.

I've played in Razer tours before - that's what I meant by 'my team' - my actual ESEA team is dead and I probably won't find/make another - it's hard to convince friends/teammates of friends to play against IM/Invite players

im pretty sure seeding would mean invite teams would face MORE open teams, because the best teams play the worst at the start, no?

I only recalled seeing 2-3 invite teams signed up all of those being pug scrim line ups, Nothing unbeatable for a good IM team, if 3 out of 16 team are invite I don't see the basis for the " i dont play cus invite teams". Seeding seems unnecessarily but if its a problem, It can be addressed when we get a decent amount of signups.

I've had nothing but good experiences from the razer cups so far. Even when something goes wrong, admins are always quick to respond and help out. If me and my invite friends not playing in this tourney would make it fill up to 16/16 I would be completely content to not play (I care more about supporting the cup than the money) but I just don't think that is the case. I think it is a good chance to challenge yourselves and even get yourself known by better players, I would have enjoyed that when I was a new player.

Seems like a great idea for those "lower" teams looking to improve. Feel that you are doing really well against lower level teams, and struggle to get scrims vs that higher division? Sign up to these.

Keep it up, Razer; we're super lucky to have the amount of support you have provided to the community with this.

It's really no wonder we can't get any sponsors or large tournaments for our game. More low level teams really need to get involved. Do not be afraid of competition that is how you grow.

Everyone, do not make the same mistakes this community has done in the past.

When CEVO could have been a decent league for TF2, everyone ignored and didn't support it when it was offering a service when people weren't happy with ESEA. ESEA has had really no reason to support us as we never use their pug system or website for anything other than the league, we have low numbers and low sign ups for the division they spend money to keep us because no one uses their serviced outside of the league.

DO NOT make this mistake with razer arena, They are providing an extremely good Competition Mod and service (FOR FREE!!!) and are offering 100$ every 4 days at this rate, Not to mention Dilusive has done some of the best admin work that this game has seen so far (no joke). this is a great outlet for all levels of competition and we NEED to support this, it would be so so so stupid not too.

PLEASE sign up!!
