I'm Looking to get a quality headset that i can get a lot of time out of. As for price keeping it around 80$ would be nice, but i still don't mind paying for a quality headset so it isn't as much of a concern.

I have this one, and hits your budget spot on. http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-H3CL/dp/B00JJNQG98

their's a version 2 out as well but costs about $20 more.

HyperX Cloud is pretty much the best headset for around that price, but SteelSeries makes some good ones too.

Sony MDR-V6 or Xiaomi Piston V3 with a 10$ clip on mic is the better choice imo, unless you really can't deal with clip on mics

I've been using http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Amplified-Universal-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B00BDS415I for over a year.

Has a good mic, and it's comfortable.

This is only if you definitely want a full headset. I'd agree with Bonafide about the Pistons. I have a pair and they're awesome, if you find the right mic.

How many threads does it need for people to understand that gaming headset a generally garbage because they are overpriced

75.00$ : http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-518-Headphones-Black/dp/B0042A68R8/ref=sr_1_17?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1438641209&sr=1-17&keywords=Sennheiser

10.00$ : http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1438641166&sr=1-2&keywords=modmic

Better sound quality than any 80$ gaming headset.

I think that the HyperX Clouds are pretty overrated after listening to my friend's batch of audiophile headphones, and owning a HyperX Cloud myself. Audiophile headphones sound better, and don't forget that you need an AMP for the HyperX Cloud's to sound good. There are also a million cheap solutions to not having a mic, and its not like you need insane mic quality anyways, unless you're a youtuber/streamer. The HyperX Cloud is a value worlds better most if not any other gaming headset in its price range, but they still don't sound like actual 'audiophile' headphones.

EDIT: if you care about surround, then you shouldn't, because to my knowledge it won't make a legit difference if you have your sound settings right. Surround also sounds like sh*& to me. If you still actually care about surround, then go download Razer Surround. Only expert audiophiles can tell the difference between digitally created surround and legit headphone surround with multiple speakers in your headphones, so it shouldn't affect your decision either way.

I think that this proposed solution is the best:
