Medic is a playable class at 800 ping I assure you.
Sarcasm aside, while more difficult, it's easier than playing combat classes. This is coming from my personal experience with lag and bad ping.

samjain98i mean yeah shade had bad internet and that definitely contributed to froyo's loss but you'd be dead wrong to say that ascent wasn't playing well

The problem isn't that delays don't happen on LAN, the problem is that the delays on LAN do not alter the lineup of a team. Unfortunately, the worst case scenario happened to 4G with their medic losing internet and not being able to find it again. Not to take anything away from Ascent, but 4G clearly had badlands in the bag, barring some miraculous—not impossible but unlikely—comeback from Ascent. This had 3 maps written all over it, and I'm sad we didn't get to see that because of an issue that wouldn't have been an issue had the game taken play in a LAN setting. Hopefully the finals do not suffer something similar.

Ascent obviously deserves recognition that they played well. However, no team ever "deserves" a win under the circumstances of not a 100% fair match, ESPECIALLY if they were losing before a given change. Regardless of whether or not ascent would have won, "deserve" is not the right word.
