I don't know, I have seen some pretty great edits in my time, but if you're going to put in that much effort I would make it 5 mins minimum. It sure is pretty, but there is more to video editing than the visuals. How effectively you're portraying your subject matter's story is just as vital as looking good.

idk if you have realized but its over edited. Anybody can work for hours on a frag movie, but just like any art its about the art of simplicity. Keeping your frag movie simple yet at a high quality standard. Its about everything being clean. For example the one airshot soldier i could barely see because of all the effects. Look i dont make frag movies but if you look at people like CUBE or cla it isnt overly edited. Its simple yet still artistic. Sometimes just frags with music is fine. If your trying to showcase editing skill dont make a frag movie, frag movies are to showcase tf2 skill.

i'll bite

the video is kind of a meh overall, the introduction was really good, but reusing the same transition can get visually boring, so spicing it up is good sometimes

one thing I really didn't like was how the color correction kept changing over the course of the video

transition at 0:20 was literally the most useless thing I've ever seen

also that sniper scope effect idk, it's just bad

you put so much effort into the editing and then you blow it with the diegetic/weatherspoon titlecard, that made it look like you just downloaded the video and put your name on it right there lol

overall though, flow was really good, just some of the finer effects need to be roughed out

Then again, Googler has been editing for a while now and the only frags i'm able to record are the ones I get myself.

Doing the same transition thing made it unwatchable for me. Like literally unwatchable I had to cover most of the screen with my hand because it was hurting my head. I uncovered to watch the frags but gave up after the second one.

The technical part was fine, just gotta work on your style.

Completely disagree. And while for example I consider myself to have a clean/simple style of editing and also a fan of that style, I think there's great artistic value and merit to more complex works (ie: Grid or googler videos). It all depends on whether you want to highlight the editing or the frags, most times a fine balance between both is the safest and best option but there are a few people that can push the envelope with editing while still making it a very enjoyable experience.

Having said this, I don't think this video really accomplished that, the transitions / synchs were a little bland, color correction was bad, some cuts/smooth choices were really weird for the style you were going for and the lettering was very amateurish. The key is just to keep editing and practicing so you'll get better. The music had potential tho.

Not all frag videos are meant to be simplistic, some prefer that especially when it comes to getting high quality frags (which I can agree with when the frag content in the video is really good) but some people do like to show off their editing skills and I think that should be equally appreciated for different reasons!

Not all frag videos need to be the same. nice job weatherspoon :D
