OK so dont read a single fucking thing in this thread if you are a mad max nerd, and haven't seen the film, because it wont let you down, any expectations you had about anything (meaning that the franchise is dead, or fucked or exploited like a piggy bank in a dark closet) is not true, the story is in tact, and therefor you should go so it, and in 3D. Why? If i had to push you to see this movie, and this is between me, who is a diehard fanboy and you who is most likely equally as such, go see the damn thing in 3D. Its just visually a piece of fucking work. They went nuts, everything is like what you dreamed and you will probably feel like missed out if you miss this.

i marathoned the mad max movies with a friend this past week
i think i never saw 1 before and thought mad max 2 was 1 and beyond thunderdome was 2
1 is so different, and i didn't like it, but its probably because it was the third movie i watched after 2/3

If I had, I'd have put way too much time trying to figure out when this movie took place in relation to the other three and how it'd be possible for society to have degenerated so far in just one lifetime instead of simply enjoying the amazing cinematography, editing, and sound mixing/editing. I could see some cause for concern amongst people who enjoyed the series before this movie, but the movie is still so great that it doesn't matter how this movie fits into the other ones.

Just got back from seeing it. Solid 8/10 for me. Awesome action sequences.
It became pretty stale halfway through the movie, but when they decided to head back to the citadel it definitely got my adrenaline pumping again.

one thing that I really like is how every character has a cool design (guitar guy). theres just so much thought put into this movie, I would definitely recommend.
