just wanting to let u guys know, don't click anything my acct sends you, i got hacked today. i didn't want to make a thread for this but this is basically my only way to communicate with the majority of my people on my friends list
idk how i even got hacked, never clicked any links. i knew they could do it through teamviewer, and i did recently use a session with someone while troubleshooting but i never noticed a session actually open.
perhaps puush keylogger (which for me was never even installed) + sharing teamviewer info = fucked by russians???
also a question: for those who've been hacked (leaky) how long does it take steam support to respond usually

I got hijacked before too. I think depending on the evidence you give changes how long for your account. I only gave old passwords and e-mails and it took a little over a week for me to get my account back.

It's good to send a photo of a CD-Key of your retail game linked in account with ticket number somewhere near (either separate piece of paper or you can just write it near the key). That's what they asked me to do.

so apparently he tried signing in with my email and then somehow got into it and was able to abuse the change password things. about a week ago i noticed all my emails were suddenly read but i didn't think much of it, probably gonna swap everything off of those emails now

I lost my account 10 days ago now and steam support has said shit all so GL with that, my FL and bio are also totally wiped now so RIP. Gotta love that they have anti trade shit if your acct does get hacked but they are slower to respond then the length of the lockout useful as fuck aint it....

the only thing i can think of was a sony vegas cracker but i deleted that right after i cracked it, and then deleted the sony vegas once i was done

Change your passwords, use two step authentication on steam/gmail, reformat. If you still aren't SURE how your password was obtained, just assume your system has been compromised and start over new,

I'm getting recommended to refresh rather than reformat from some people. Apparently refresh removes all the apps and retains my media, and apparently reformatting might not get everything.
not sure. getting back all that stuff would be a major pain and keeping the stuff that i want to (i.e. configs) might be at risk for corrupted extensions anyway.

Take your custom stuff like your configs, your pictures and stuff you want to keep that you know is virus free. And save it on a SD Card or Thumb drive. Reformatting is the safest way because it removes the pointers and is now waiting for new information to overwrite it. Gl flat!
