Question about csgo

I was thinking of picking csgo up, and couldnt help but notice that most csgo players who are considered amazing (get right, flusha...) have around 3-4000 hours in the game. I mean thats like the same amount or less as yer average pugger/high on tf2. Is it because the skill ceiling is lower, or its just too boring for anyone to play 5-9000 hours, like tf2?

All those pros have thousands of hours in either 1.6 or source.

yeah csgo is a lot newer of a game than tf2, but there are more games considered relatively similar in the counter strike-genre than team fortress has, since team fortress classic was a very different game from tf2

keep in mind get_right and CS 1.6 has also been around longer than hour tracking on steam he likely has a couple thousand more hours in that. Plus I'm not sure if steam counts hours while "offline"

csgo isnt around for as long as tf2 is, naturally people will have lower hours on average.

edit: didnt read khakis post

Steam does not track your hours while in "offline mode", but it does track them when you set your state to offline.

There is a difference.

just pick it up and play man, i played cs 1.3 - 1.6 and loved it. while csgo is very different in overall feel/gameplay it still has the classic maps/guns, cs source i didn't really care for but csgo definitely revived the series of this game and it has definitely grown on me

fadeSteam does not track your hours while in "offline mode", but it does track them when you set your state to offline.

thats true, but you can't play CS except in a local server while in offline mode, so its irrelevant.
