Hi everybody,

Every time I go to an MGE server or join a lobby in TF2 center and get in the game it has these weird lagg like movements. I checked my fps they were a steady 250 and my ping on an MGE server is around 12, on a lobby around 35 but still I have that weird lagg.

Also if i join a lobby than most of the time the server kicks me because VAC secure connection can't be made, i checked al the steps they explain there, i play with an Internet cable, etc.. but still i have these problems?

If any of you would be so kind to help me out.

Welcome to tftv!

Is this a problem on all servers or just the servers you lobby on?

Did you try verifying your game's cache?

Did you try reinstalling TF2?

I'm assuming you tried restarting your computer as well?

Does this happen in other games?

Can you try pinging the servers with this command in CMD to see if it's a net issue or a computer issue?

ping <SERVER IP> -t

no in pubs my game is really smooth.

it's only the servers where i lobby or MGE on?

I bought a whole new computer last week (the other one was way to old) and i still have the same problem.
It only happens in TF2 so?

CMD i assume that's the console?

That's really weird. Do you have any cfgs installed?

(by cmd i mean the actual command prompt)

Is it an FPS lag or an internet lag?

yeah i know non of my friends seem to know the problmem.
No not that I know of?

so not the console when you open TF2? when i type it in the console in TF2 i get this:
85 ms : B3rToN

(sorry not that great with computers)

I don't know that's the problem, it could be an internet lagg but my ping remains steady so i'm not sure

type net_graph 1 in tf2 console and check your fps: if it's 60 or higher and it's stable (aka you stay at a constant 60, not spike up to it randomly but then drop down afterward) then your framerate should be good and any lag you experience is (probably) internet lag.

net_graph 1 creates a graphic in the bottom right that's displays info while you play. it doesn't show anything in the console.

my guess is that your internet doesn't like the competitive tickrates on servers, but handles pub values just fine.

AFAIK all tf2 servers are 66 tick so this wouldn't really make sense
