Hello Community,
I couldn't find my answer anywhere, therefore my last resort was to ask the great TF2 community!

So I have stopped using my custom (rays hud) cross hair that was set to blink red when it hit an enemy,
I really like the default (stock) crosshairs because my sniper dot shows and the crosshair dissapears,
is there anyway to make the stock crosshair blink a color on contact with an enemy?
Your help is greatly appreciated! I'm willing to pay whoever can help me, for this has been a big pain in my neck, feel free to add me.....

An option you might want to consider is using toggle-able HUD crosshairs (such as achievement-tracking or playermodel crosshairs), which will allow you to hide your HUD crosshair when you scope through a script.

If you want a similar effect you can make a custom crosshair that is only visible when you do damage and then fades off screen. Similar to a hitmarker most other multiplayer shooters have while just using the in game crosshair to aim with. You set it up the same way you would the animated flashing effect in your game files. You just have to make the custom crosshair invisible by default.

I use broesel's switcher, which can give you the default crosshair if you like, and then I use the small wings(?) rayshud crosshair that is clear and blinks white on hit. I guess that's kinda similar, it just blinks around the crosshair instead of the crosshair actually flashing

You need to custom your hud_animations_tf.
I think its possible.

@8 he wants to animate an in-game crosshair. not possible. he could do what #5 said to circumvent one of the reasons he wants to use stock crosshairs but if he wants to use a crosshair that comes with tf2 and not in a hud it cannot be animated by a .res file. nor can vtfs be animated to change color through hud_animations_tf anyways.
