I purchased these a few months ago and I can attest to how great they actually sound. The one complaint I could possibly think of MIGHT be comfort but for $25 I HIGHLY recommend these to anyone who wants a nice pair of in-ears.

I bought these a while ago and highly recommend them.

I own a pair of Shure SE215 and Phonak Audeo PFE 112, both are $100+. The Pistons are by far my most used IEMs, they're a lot cheaper and much more enjoyable to listen to IMO.

Teapot_MasterKuniBy the way, if the Pistons aren't available in your area, you can get the Sennheiser CX 300 instead. They have nearly identical frequency responses.
can vouch for the cx300s, they're great, I'm on my 3rd pair atm.

will probably get these too cause the mic could be handy.

had a pair of cx-300s. They weren't BAD, just the balance + build quality was an issue. Found the XBA-1ips to be way better for the price. And they fit better.

regardless, I still wanna check these out though.

I didn't mean to imply that I was advocating buying either the pistons or the cx-300, I was only making a remark that they are nearly identical in terms of measurements. Whether or not that is a good thing depends on the performance of other IEMs in the same price bracket, of which I am blissfully unaware. I have heard shaky things about the cx-300 build quality.

To be honest, most decent sub $50 IEMs are probably going to share the same family resemblance of exaggerated lows and highs and rolled off mids, but that's just the nature of the beast in this price category.

If anybody is using iOS, I highly recommend using the CanOpener app. It's much more than a simple equalizer (although one component of it is a very nice parametric EQ), and it'll take your headphones to the next level.

Looks like something good to tide me over until I can afford custom IEMs.

Looking at picking up a new pair of earbuds because mine are kind of torn up after a year or two of being carried in my pocket, how would these hold up being carried around in a small bag because I've had some pretty bad luck with non braided cables in the past in terms of tearing and breaking.

WARHURYEAHAre these ones the legit ones?

If they are I'm getting them.

I bought a pair a fortnight ago from DealZone (which was then the default seller on Amazon). The ones I got were definitely legit, but my thought was that with Amazon you've got pretty good protection against fakes anyway right? If the wrong thing does come through (easy to tell) just let them know? (:

Or use Xyster's link above.

Also, been using these every day since I bought them - they were a last minute purchase before I came on holiday (my Koss Porta-Pros died in one ear, need to send them off for replacement). Sound quality and insulation is ridiculous for the price - I used them on an aeroplane behind a full row of Irish lads on tour and couldn't hear a peep (and sound doesn't bleed either).

My one gripe would be that the metal bit of the earbud sticks out a little far and can hurt your ear if improperly positioned. Also the cable is braided up until the Left-Right split, and I wish it was all braided.

The most common fit for comfort is to take off the tips that come on the buds, and replace with the medium in the box - they are subtly different sizes and most people prefer the replacement tip.

toothI have them and can confirm that they are amazing, not just for the price. Combined with the foam tips of your choice they come close to what I imagine in the perfect workout IEMs: cheap, durable build, decent isolation, enhanced bass with clear everything else, and a mic with an Android remote.

I probably sound like a fanboy but man, I'm buying a backup pair right now.

what foam tips do you use/recommend?

I've been using the Comply S400 (they're the cheapest Comply tips at ~$14 for three pairs) and the Veritas mediums ($10 for four pairs). Haven't decided which I like more. The Veritas tips are a finer foam that's softer so they're more comfortable but I don't know if they will degrade faster too.

I haven't used the Comply S400, but if you're looking for foam tips, be aware that they are very size-sensitive and they will degrade much much faster than silicone tips. I've been using the Tx-500 tips with my IEMs and while the large ones are comfortable, the medium and small tips fell out of my ears like a white man on alfa's mom (it has been suggested that her promiscuity has a scale all to itself). Even though they're the most comfortable tips I've used, they only seem to last a month or so before they degrade too far, and they are so bulky that they don't fit in the original storage case for my IE80s.

I've bought 2 pairs from:

http://www.ibuygou.com/p-original_xiaomi_piston_earphone_updated_version_brown-5708.html#review

Was surprisingly quick each time, about a week for shipping to NSW. They are definitely legitimate and sound great. My only complaint has been them falling out a bit, and none of the different tips did too much for me (might try buy some memory foam tips). For less than $25 they are absolutely worth it

I ordered two of these as gifts, but only ended up needing one. If anyone is interested I'm selling them for $20, add me on steam if interested.

Bought a pair out of curiosity, very impressed for $25. With foam tips, the seal is way better than the stock silicon tips (for me at least)...which is crucial to any IEM/earbud. I doubt you'll find anything even remotely close to this for the price, great deal.
