My friends tooth broke and the dentist there in north carolina quoted a 5k usd for fixing him with a tooth implant. Perhaps its cheaper in canada?
Basically just looking at a tooth extraction then an implant. It isn't salvageable anymore due to where it broke

can anyone recommend him a place to go?

standard practice for dentists in the states = cavity filling and teeth cleaning, but with extraction/implant they consider it surgery aka it gives them a reason to rape your wallet

It's a little bit cheaper here but not by much. It used to be that you could work around it by having it out by a doctor - and covered by your health card (of course, you Americans don't have it like that). I think that's not allowed any more though, and a dentist has to do it. Extraction only, not implant.

For 5K fucking fly to Croatia, I'll meet you with the best private business dentist in town and take you out to a dinner. Spend a weekend in the Mediterranean and when you come back home you'll still have a 1K in your pocket and all of your teeth fixed.

Dentistry isn't covered by OHIP so government doesn't keep the price down. I tried to check my private insurance coverage to get a ballpark but apparently for anything over 500$ you have to submit an estimate to find out what they'll cover. I would guess it is similar in price to the states.

I think some oral surgery is covered by OHIP but I somewhat doubt an extraction/implant would fall into that category. I also doubt you could get an accurate estimate without actually seeing someone up here first.

I hear medical tourism to Costa Rica is a thing. Apparently they have clinics actually set up inside resorts so you can get a procedure done and then chill there while recovering.. Maybe they do dentistry. Also I heard that secondhand from a family member so it might be a complete fabrication.
