I'd imagine the price difference is in the quality of the cable as I believe (but I could be wrong) that all DisplayPort cables are the same.

That said, I'd be surprised if you didn't get both cables in the box with your monitor. When I got my monitor (different company though) I got cables for each of the inputs.

Also, if your card can support 144 FPS then it probably has at least one dual link dvi port.

The monitor comes with DL-DVI D cables actually. Just check if your graphic cards supports that. As for audio, it does transmit audio, the monitor has built in speakers and you can use headphones as well.

You won't be able to use 120hz+ with an HDMI cable.

I'm on Full HD 144hz with a single DVI. Or maybe that's not possible and I'm doing something very wrong.

AOC g2460Pqu here

VG248QE/7970 owner here, it comes with a dual link DVI cable that does 144hz at 1080p fine. Only problem I've had with it is that the refresh rate seems to drop sporadically when my second monitor is enabled, but switching dual link dvi out to displayport has seemingly fixed that.

Single DVI can't handle 1080p 144hz bandwidth, it's likely a dual link cable without you realising. Bearing in mind dual link DVI isn't two cables, just a different DVI connection:

Assuming it's new/with the box it'll come with a DL DVI-D cable.

DVI pinout so you can check your GPU (since you didn't tell us which one you've got).

Thanks for the replies, I didn't really know that much about this then, I got this monitor like a week ago. Still the best.

For the record, if you use a DVI to VGA adapter for a secondary monitor, it will only work in a DVI-I port. If there's only one and that one happens to be the only DVI port that can provide high refresh rates, then you'll need to use DisplayPort if your video card has it. If it doesn't, you'll probably need to ditch your secondary monitor.

I know this because my old video card had HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI-I Dual Link, and DVI-D Dual Link. The DVI-D didn't work correctly and wouldn't supply over 60Hz; my secondary monitor is a cheap and older LCD so it had VGA. I had to use my adapter in the DVI-I slot, which meant that I had to get a DisplayPort cable. Maybe my new card will be different.
