The controls may be an issue, unless you are really comfortable with them.

And running it on an iPhone is more legitimate?

If you did it on an iPhone it would be through an emulator anyways. I don't see why you would use that over an emulator on pc though.

Use a GBA player on a Gamecube with a capture card, but I dunno if they sell those anymore. I'm sure you could find a used one somewhere, though.

There's a few places to find GBA players these days. eBay is always a good source since you can find (almost) anything you want there. SDA's trading post section is pretty good as well since the community is built around older things, and someone might be wanting to sell theirs off.

Just a note on emulators: you only need to run on console if you're wanting to submit stuff to SDA, otherwise it's up to your game's community as to whether emulators are accepted. Most NES/SNES/GB games can be accurately emulated (as long as you're using GOOD emulators), so there isn't much contention among those runners about "OMG he's using emulator ban him!" Some consoles don't have the same kind of support (N64, for example) so emulators are discouraged there. In my opinion, I'm completely fine with any emulator as long as it's equal or slower than the original console. That keeps the competition level, and won't ever punish you for running on the original console.

Sideshowif anyone fancies trying to learn to speedrun Portal2 co-op I'm your man

I've been wanting to do this for a while and haven't had anyone to do it with. I'd be down to try it. I don't know how badly ping would affect the run, but it sounds pretty fun.

I do speed runs of Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, my current best time is 50:33, I'm trying to get jedi master % runs going as well as doing runs of the sly cooper games + Jedi Knight Jedi Outcast. If anyone is interested in these games. You can usually find me on #speedrunslive irc in the #starwars channel, or just get me on steam.

ESA starts tomorrow!

If you don't know what ESA is, it is essentially a Swedish GDQ (streamed in English), which also raises money to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), similar to SGDQ.

They will be streamed on the Blue and Yellow streams from July 27th to the third of August.

I was running Dark Souls 2 Any% when it first came out on PC for a while. My PB was 59:20 RTA while the world record was around ~52 minutes. Shortly after that though people found a couple really game breaking bugs that let you run at sonic the hedgehog speed and skip most of the game by getting out of bounds and I kind of lost interest (world record for Any% is now ~17 minutes).

I can speedrun Super Punch Out.

Show Content
And what that really means is that I know all of the patterns against each boxer, and it's really just an average time as much as anyone else who knows the patterns.
