potpharaoh__Milk is a big scam. Milk in general doesn't have much of a health benefit unless you're a cow. There's little to no solid evidence that milk is beneficial for bones, or your health in any way. It's regarded as the healthy option for schools, yet it generally has more sugar and is higher in fat than coke.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk#Medical_research

Interesting to read the (longer) list of possible harms below.

30-50 million Americans are lactose intolerant, yet your government pushes milk on you as if you were, well, cows.

dairy companies actually send elementary schools free food pyramid posters that have milk as an essential part, which seems a little ridiculous to me considering the aforementioned lack of evidence of real tangible benefits of milk.

To be honest, they put way too much sugar in milk because pure cow milk probably tastes like shit. If you are trying to lose weight, a better alternative would be almond milk.

d4m030-50 million Americans are lactose intolerant, yet your government pushes milk on you as if you were, well, cows.

There's a wide range of lactose tolerance and usually children are producing enough lactase to regularly consume milk and dairy, which is good for them. I'd rather have my schools advertise milk over the processed food from vending machines any day

I could live on chocolate milk and whole milk tastes good too

if you're fat because of soda, you probably don't want to drink just water
switching to a low/zero calorie soda can easily cut 3-1100 calories a day from your diet.

He has a good point. Sugared drinks like soda, vitamin water, and juices can put a ton of empty calories into your diet. Switching to sugar-free diet drinks and/or water can save hundreds of calories. Plus your dentist will thank you.

I really like chocolate milk if that counts. Fresh normal milk is always good too, though I mostly drink it with my cereal.

Honestly, I would rather drink a sugar soda rather than one that's Diet. I don't trust that sucralose stuff man. Would you REALLY want to drink something that's been chlorinated?

An organic compound that has chlorine in it isn't "chlorinated" especially not in the sense of a pool being chlorinated which I assume is the dumb comparison your brain immediately leapt to.

On topic 1% milk is god damned delicious I don't care if it has a lot of health benefits i'm going to enjoy my lactose tolerance white privilege is the best.

Whole milk is even more delicious but its kind of too rich and creamy to just drink a glass of the stuff. I grew up in a rural area and had some friends who lived on farms and let me tell you putting fresh milk on your cereal is pretty much the greatest thing.

lemon_pulpWhole milk all day. Contrary to popular belief, getting 1% or 2% isn't a healthy alternative. Enzymes that help you break down whole milk are lost in the pasteurizing process.

Any milk that you can buy in a supermarket (1%, 2%, whole milk) is pasteurized. The enzymes made inactive by pasteurization aren't needed in digestion nor are they important to human health.
