Started off as scout when I was really young because I'm actually ADHD and everything else seemed boring (also ritalin makes you really good at scout apparently)

I then went to med because I wanted to feel smart and maincall and stuff and I thought Sigma was a really cool dude, him on Fully Charged and the pug group he started really got me into the game competitively.

I play a lot of soldier now pretty much because MGE is fun and playing pocket is all the reasons I wanted to play med but with DM.

Demoman eludes me but I'm sure I can find an excuse to play in a div 5 team as demo at some point.

I started out as a pyro because it was easy, then I discovered how the degreaser worked and it was actually fun too. After a season of highlander I became aware of the 6s scene and immediately picked up soldier because I loved to rocket jump. Then I actually got good and stated enjoying airshots and the fast jumpy playstyle, and it has stuck with me for 4 seasons.

I like playing demo and sniper in pubs, and I still like to play pyro in highlander when I get the chance.

one of my good friends who brought me into the game played me in some dm server or something in like 2011-2012 and he said i should start on soldier/scout since they are easier to learn at a low level

i didn't play again until mid 2013 isn. when i started comp, i watched a lot of comp with the roamers making the big plays

so, i am a roamer

I've always been a glass cannon kinda guy, and Scout has the movement and damage I need to have fun in a game. Getting kills as any other class just isn't as satisfying for me anymore.

i was a soldier main when the game first started until i got headshot across the map on dustbowl 2 from that little room with a window and got taunted, and then i was like

wow every sniper needs to die

i played sniper actively in 6v6 with my first team for a long time, and when we finally disbanded i started playing in tf2.gather where people were like WHY ARE YOU RUNNING SNIPER TO GRANARY MIDDLE, IDIOT

so suddenly i was a scout main

Demoman, for multiple reasons really.

My main reason being that i started playing tf2 on demo because i thought everything about him was just badass. Even tho at the time i was complete shit with him and thought it was impossible to be able to play this class, my undying mancrush kept me going.

My second reason being for some reason, my hands are just too shaky for me to track, thus hindering my hit-scan capabilities.

I started playing 6v6 when Newbie Mixes first became a thing, and after no luck with scout or soldier, i played 1 mix as demo. Being as that at the time i had about 500 hours of charge and targe demo, i hit a few good directs and decided that i didnt mind being stuck with this class.

then demo was my main.

i started out as a scout main but then the liberty launcher came out and i realized that soldier was a lot more fun

i decided i'd play pocket but then i was told by many medics that i jumped away too much and that i'd be better off as a roamer

I don't have a main, I am equally bad at every class

but I play scout the most because clicking on people is more intuitive than whatever it is you're supposed to do with projectiles

I come from an MMO background, that's all I played throughout high school.

When I got into tf2 in early 2010, I was playing WoW at the time as a Mage, so I wanted to try more of a support class since I was accustomed to playing damage classes in MMO's. Because of this, Medic was the obvious choice.

Now I play all the classes but still enjoy Medic the most. A lot of the medic's mechanics are really fined tune and give a different play-style from the other classes and other FPS's in general.

Medic, because it resembles a goalkeeper for me and I enjoy goaltending in sports. You can either fuck up the game or save it and everyone goes to defend you.

My best friend IRL asked how to unbox things in TF2, and promptly unboxed two unusuals in a row for his first two crates. I thought he was bullshitting me until he showed me. Orbiting fire otalaryngologist's mirror (probably spelled that wrong), and a steaming conjuror's cowl. At the time I was a shitty soldier main (still am bad at solly) but he gave me that demoman hat for free... so I had to try the class.

400 hours later, I'm still not very good at demoman. At least my mapping has improved in that timeframe.

I don't honestly know what class I main anymore and it's actually pretty nice cause now I can say "I don't even main this class!" When I do something cool and when I do something terrible I can just say "Hey I don't main this class."

soldier because its good all around. 6s, pubs, bball, mge, and jump.

scout would've been a lot easier from my fps background, but it felt like the same old thing that I'd been playing in cod2/every generic fps and I was bored. I mained sniper for awhile but it was really shallow compared to mohaa.

soldier felt like it had more depth with various rocket jumps, prediction/juggling/airshots, projectile+hitscan weapons.

I started playing demoman because he could deal with literally everything in pubs. Especially some sentries just completely ruined my fun when playing something like pyro or scout. And seeing how pubtards couldn't ever take them out, I decided to take care of it myself.

I originally mained med but HL med is just cancer if I don't have a solid maincaller. Hence I basically stopped that.

Pyro

Reflect airshots on bombing soldiers are just wayyyy too satisfying. Used my 4 seasons pyro experience to do the first clip in this video.
Also lets me compensate for shitty aim by reflecting people onto a predictable arc and shotgunning them down.
Mostly it's just the flexibility of being incredibly offensive and defensive on a whim, while having a ton of utility available to me as well. Rewards smart play moreso than raw DM ability.

In 6s at least, I enjoy roamer for the exact same reasons as above. Allows me to be offensive or defensive, incredibly mobile, and gives me the opportunity to make plays. Not actually good at roamer yet, though.
