ESEA Invite Roster Locks Removed

As ESEA's quest for world domination continues, we're very conscious of not forgetting what got us here, and continue to strive to produce the best league in both North America as well as Europe. To that end, and in the interest of promoting the highest level of competition possible, we have decided to make a key change to the Invite division.

Effective immediately for Season 17, the roster lock no longer applies to the Invite division. That means that any player can now join an Invite team at any time, so long as no other roster restrictions prevent them from doing so.

Please note that as before, no player (even Invite), can join a lower division team once the roster lock goes into effect.

So... What does this mean? Are Invite teams no longer limited to X-number of player transactions?

LKincheloeSo... What does this mean? Are Invite teams no longer limited to X-number of player transactions?

This means that Invite teams can trade players even after the league-wide roster lock.

They still have to abide by the Invite roster restrictions, which for TF2 are:

  • Invite rosters are limited to 6 starters, 3 backups, and 1 manager.
  • Invite rosters are limited to 5 player additions over the course of a season. The beginning of the season starts at the end of registration.
  • Invite players will be limited to two (2) Invite teams per season.
