not for walking multiple miles per day bud

I dunno if you still need shoes, I'm a bit late to the party, but my uncle that owns a shoe store got me a pair of these.

http://www.amazon.com/New-Balance-MO689-Multisport-Hiking/dp/B006O5G8S8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402886510&sr=8-1&keywords=new+balance+hiking+shoes

He took a pair with him hiking in Africa and recommended them for being the most comfortable walking shoes he's ever used (I trust his shoe knowledge, he's owned a shoe store for more than 30 years). They're New Balance, which I usually try to avoid for the nerd stigma attached, but honestly they look nice with jeans and are sooooooooooooo much more comfortable than walking in converse/vans/boatshoes. The only thing better that I might recommend would be some nice Nike basketball shoes.

Edit: Also, as far as reliability goes, I've had mine for 2 years now, walked all winter (Minnesota man winter) and campus is really spread out so I'd average about 3 miles on days I had 3 classes or more. No holes yet, I'd post a picture but I didn't take them with me to Cali :(

For walking multiple miles/day I can't recommend anything other than Bellevilles. I've owned a pair of 310s and 340STs, both are very comfortable after break-in and will last you forever. If I'm not mistaken all Belleville/Tactical Research boots can be resoled and definitely the ones with Vibram soles are resole-able. Their sizing info on the website is pretty much on-point. I would recommend getting some Neatsfoot oil and rubbing it into the leather when the boots are new however. This seriously cuts down on break-in time and makes the boots exceptionally comfortable.

Why do you want to muddy up some new leather/suede shoes? Just get some walking shoes; they last longer than runners and don't get any shoes with the polyester screen fabric. That shit tears really easily. Try and go to a store too, since shoes look a lot nicer online than they do in person.

Sorry to hijack your thread Lange, but I'm looking for some shoes as well. I have been recommended Diesel's by a friend since he has two pairs, they look decent, and have lasted a few years for him. I'm happy to spend up to $200 AUD for a really good pair of shoes, but the more I save the better, obviously. I know I'm from AUS, but I'm happy to order in, or just look for the shoes/similar shoes in a store.

I currently have a pair of Nike air's that have lasted me nearly two years but they just aren't really that good on the comfort side, especially the fact where I am wonky and put more pressure on my left foot when walking than my right foot

Just some shoes that are comfy, look nice. Doesn't really matter if they're sneakers or not.

Aight this is going to sound dumb, but check out http://gravitydefyer.com/

What it is is a shoe with springs in the heel that cushions your steps and reduces impact on your legs. My dad had me buy him a pair for fathers day. Check em out:

Nice discussion. As a REMOVED store owner, I am actually loving this discussion. I hope I could share my experience but I don't have such.
