So it seems most of the 120hz+ monitors in that thread aren't current or able to be bought new anymore, so I was wondering, are there any other good 120hz monitors besides the new benq used at the lans and the asus? Or am I shit out of luck?

Why don't you like those monitors? They are the generally recommended ones for a reason.

I never said I didn't like them, I am trying to find a cheaper alternative because being a Jobless teen, I really have no money to spare to dish out for them.

Then you'll be hard pressed to find one cheaper than that one, unfortunately.

I know, that is why I am asking, haven't had the chance to go to a best buy or a microcenter to check it out

You're not getting a cheap 120+Hz unless its used.

I used the old viewsonic 120hz which is 1680x1050 for a while and it was fine. I found it open box, with no stand in the back of a Frys for $50. I then had to buy all the cables, and I made a stand out of wood and L brackets from home depot. I don't think you can count on getting that lucky though especially since that monitor is now pretty old.

ppl are right here, you can pick up a decent crt for next to nothing. They will always give you the best image for next to nothing, just done expect to be going to any lans with it.

mixtape-Nothing wrong with using a CRT until you can afford a 120HZ LCD. I used to use a Sony CRT with a res of 1152x864 and it held me well for a year until I finally saved up for my ASUS.

After a bit of googling I found out that it's a Sony Trinitron P1100 (most likely) which I can only find here for €80 :(

Can any monitor do 120 hz or just the newer models, and if I were to use a dvi to av adapter would it mess with the input delay ? Sorry if this sounds dumb. But I would really like to play on 120hz since I can maintain a solid 120fps too.

There have been multiple times the ASUS 144hz have gone down to like 200 dollars or something. I would suggest waiting for that.

For the love of anything holy do not get the Acer 120, it is horrid. I used it this season and I can say that I did worse than any other season. The damned thing has input lag that is impossible to deal with.
