reillyKillingIf you think you’ll have more fun in ESEA, then play ESEA. It's not about fun. If I play CEVO, I'm playing TF2. If I play ESEA I'm still playing TF2 (although probably with worse FPS and ping). I'll have fun either way. It's about dignity and self respect.
KillingAlso, we’re looking to improve the league so if you have any suggestions ranging from format to minor rules, post them here. If they’re good, I’ll be sure to pass them along.I don't remember a season where I haven't seen this said. There is almost no small changes to be made that aren't completely obvious. The rest of the changes we want are large projects (like a good pug or scrim system) which are always brought up and never brought to fruition.

So yeah, I don't really have any faith in your words. On top of that you've been rude or unhelpful in the past.

That said, if I found a main team I'd probably still play ESEA because I crave competition, but in terms of ESEA as a company you still aren't giving me a reason to trust you until you prove it.

who the fuck would even use the esea pug or scrim system even if they were implemented?

I don't think top teams in Invite/Main were going to CEVO anyways.

Just a quick reminder that ESEA lied about putting a bitcoin miner into the client, then lied about who knew, then lied about when it was put in, then lied about how much money they made off of it. I don't care if it was "just lpkane" who did all of that, he's basically the face of the company and always seems to have the final say in how things work.

Also, can we actually get a formal explanation (from the developers of the client or owners of ESEA) on why the client allows ESEA to access everything on your computer?

And have them not give the "that's how the client works" bullshit?

I was going to comment on this, but I honestly think that's just part of how their anti-cheat attempts to find nastier hacks. It kind of makes sense to me, although I didn't trust them enough to keep the client on my computer at the end of last season.

That's the thing, it's not bullshit, it's the best way to find more hidden injectors and shit. I don't hate them for having access to that, I have more issues with it potentially being enabled even when the client was disabled, being shy of impossible to uninstall certain parts they don't tell you about, lying repeatedly and just overall stepping on TF2 over and over as an organization (you two are more than fine, don't get me wrong).

If it wasn't for that, I would probably still consider ESEA, but my trust just isn't there anymore.

The client doesn't go through your computer and look at your files. It's a program that detects when 3rd party programs are in use and if these programs are being used to cheat in game. There's no reason ESEA needs to have access to personally go through your whole computer and look at your files. It's a huge invasion of your privacy.

esea invaded the trust and privacy of thousands of players and made a profit off it. i dont care what anyone does in this community, but it wont ever get another cent from me purely off the fact that its been proven to be a corrupt company

the only real complaint I had as a european player was the fact that they had 3 servers for 16 teams and since a server gets locked for like 2.5 hours when someone books it means it was terrible to schedule games, I had a fun time and could consider it again if there was improvements from their part.(and we were the pushing bag team of the division, we came from a base of div 6 players just cause why not really.)

this is all well and good, but i honestly don't think ESEA will deliver to make their service better with tf2 in mind. why still have a pug system? couldnt you just turn these into DM servers when they arent used for matches? is there any reason why we're paying for premium other than to play in a league we already paid for?

what bothers me here is that i know this is Killing saying these things, and not ESEA. any kind of assurance i would get from the statements in the OP is negated by the fact that once the season gets started, the same shit is going to be terrible that has always been terrible about playing in ESEA (shitty laggy servers, servers not being available when trying to schedule, etc). i don't really know what i'm going to do next season but please. be realistic about thinking that anything about ESEA will change to favor the TF2 Community.

pretty much london's statements, I appreciate the effort and all killing but I'd rather see a serious statement from lpkane and the last time he was in a thread complaining about his league here he just said "lol"

this was my first season in esea and the main complaint I have is the scheduling. when you set a "season opening" date, that should be the season opening. registration shouldn't get extended twice, client should actually work for the first week of matches, and we shouldn't have to play through thanksgiving then have a month of bye for christmas. if esea can actually manage themselves like a real business and commit to having a real schedule laid out and planned, it would be a much more attractive option.

having better stats would also be nice. i know logs.tf isn't an option since it includes information about client or something, but we literally can't even list categories by value on esea stats. (eg most damage to least damage, etc.) like, seriously? there's a lot of small simple things to be changed that would make me feel like my money is actually going towards something.

also, rip articles for non-invite divisions

KillingThe previous client developer was fired, not relocated, and then ESEA took time to find someone who is capable of doing that specialized role, but now we have a team of people. ESEA has put controls and policies in place to ensure that this doesn't happen again and continues to go through steps to ensure that everything is operated responsibly.

The scapegoat was fired for developing malware. His replacement(s) now work under COURT ORDERED controls and policies.

Good luck to everyone who plays in ESEA, I hope it is a competitive and entertaining season. It's not for me though. Lpkane's rude, dismissive, and condescending attitude towards ESEA's entire customer base make me cringe at the thought of paying to play a free game in his league.

And if it was the real lpkane: you're still an idiot

Just ditch ESEA already and give your money to people who actually deserve it.
