Hello TF2 community,

Big news!

Tl:dr- New servers, push for TF2 content streams/youtube, and LAN plans for the future. Show your support!

First off about us, SYOPS (www.syops.net) is a group for gamers and a social network for anyone looking to connect with friends. Based on the key three principles of life: Integrity, Honor, and Respect. SYOPS is here to help anyone with a want, drive, or purpose to succeed. A friendly, supportive, honest, and helpful community created to help anyone, find their way and establish themselves with their true gaming potential.

Now to the big news, I am excited to announce the new SYOPS servers and content! We have added 4 servers so far. I plan on adding a DM server soon. And hopefully one of those amazing quake insta-gib servers.

We encourage people to join our groups and website. Tell us what you like/don’t like, either in this thread or in our forums or to me on steam. I would like to eventually get us to the point that we can produce/run LANs. But we need to work on building up the community first.

So our first step was the servers. Our next step will be to put a big push on producing high quality TF2 content- youtube/streams to help build up/enrich the TF2 community. Those will be focusing on helping players better understand the meta and producing new interesting content. Then finally, I have been talking to SAPPER about making a yearly LAN. Kind of like the Insomnia Gaming Festival, but for North America. I know it’s a stretch, but everyone needs goals so here there is my whopper for the SYOPS gaming community. So be on the lookout for all these great things coming your way and help us out by spreading the word (feel free to put on that SYOPS tag). And help us out by showing your support by joining our groups/servers and enjoying our pugs.

SnowyHow does the MVM server work?

Its just a server that you do not need to have to do man up mode for. So you just get your friends and join. Kill some robots.

Fact: We are actually not a new community . SYOPS has been supporting CS, CS:GO, and TF2 for several ESEA seasons. Salamancer actually started by casting the beginnings of the old tf2 team (water vapor/fragnetic gaming), which eventually became sponsored by SYOPS. I am sure he has vods still up on his youtube.

Plans are in progress on switching over to compete in CEVO (b/c ESEA has been screwing over their gamers for far too long... bitcoins ... non helpful to their players ... etc ). I've heard rumors of some awesome players streaming (names to be announced closer to the start of CEVO). But that's for another day.

Most people are torn about class limits

they love it when they have too many sniper/spies, but hate it when they actually want to play those classes

this all looks really good but can we get like one dallas mge so that i dont have to play all the westcoast-debuff victims on LA

i mean theres like 9 chicago mge servers now and only one is populated most of the time

So a few updates!

A few of my jumper admins, jupemalupe, stimpack, and bshear, took some initiative and helped out on the jump server. I just wanted you remind you jumpers out there to add it to your favorites.

Features include:
* deadchat
* bungee
* fov changer
* hide
* jump assist
* nominations and rtv for new maps
* showkeys
* a ton of maps
* skillsrank - database to store runs
* concs - like concussion grenades from tfc

Also related server updates:
* Dm server has dm on it, but I need to bump the player count down to 8. Remove demo stickies to 2. And limit classes through a plugin Fog helped me find.
* Badwater/Goldrush has no bots anymore, has no random crits and no spread. Please add that one to favs and get friends in!
* Added 2 pug groups -
1) SYOPS pugs generally high level pugs IM/main players. Most of the time word of mouth occasionally I'll post an announcement for a few more to join.- http://steamcommunity.com/groups/syopstf2 run by me.
2) Uber in 5 is generally for newer players http://steamcommunity.com/groups/uberin5pugs which are run by one of my admins Bleaky.

I still need to put up the quake dm mod, but I have been super busy with tf2/work/SYOPS
So could use a few more admins for helping out in pugs, populating/admin of pubs, growing the community.

Team updates:
* We are sponsoring a really awesome Platinum team in UGC. Welcome
Scout: Bryan \\ Soldier: TicTack \\ Pyro: Cygnus \\ Demo: PYYYOUR \\ Heavy: Sharpshot \\ Engineer: Cusideabelincoln \\ Medic: Lydiaxa \\ Sniper: uhhhh \\ Spy: hmmmm \\
* 6s is ramping up for next season. So look out for that should be a great season. We're prob going to play both ESEA and CEVO.:)
