Ok I was really sad when the surf it servers shut down. Sadly the surfing with high ping just feels different, so I decided to host a new one. Everything is up and running i'm just not finished yet uploading all them maps.

Is TF2jump.com staying down now?

tf2jump.com doesn't have anything to do with the shutdown of the servers. Although it's kinda weird that it is down for the last few days. Probably some weird problem.

the server hosting tf2jump.com was shut down and redwine forgot that he was also hosting tf2jump.com on it. it will not be back up unless someone gets the domain from him

I think I'll be able to host another tf2jump.com. I'll add him and see what I can do.

EDIT: It's not redwine who hosts it. Bernie has been off IRC for 2 months, but the registrant for the domain is for rush... not sure if I can get that domain now haha.

If you want to develop a site, I can turn over tf2rj.com to you, or just keep hosting it and give you admin on the site or something. I just bought it for like $1 this week and played around with it a little, since it didn't look like tf2jump.com was coming back. The tf2rj.com domain would probably work pretty well with the tf2rjweekly youtube which seems like the most active jump thing around atm.

Some amazing new surf servers replaced Surf/SuSurf iT which is fantastic =) and there are LOTS of jump servers out there... but quite a few people were very upset there were no comparable MGE servers (the words of you people not me!) so i renewed MGE iT for right now. That server required no work on my part so i really don't mind keeping it up a bit longer. Enjoy guys <3

Last time I was on just play MGE it was really choppy, but that was a week or two ago.

Thank you so much Klanana! There really isn't a comparable MGE server. I really love the fact that MGE points are not shown next to names. I feel like that gets rid of a lot of the epeen waving that goes on in other MGE servers. Ping is great and the server is well established and a lot of players go to it so it isn't empty like a lot of the other MGE servers. Most servers have updated to Version 8 so this is one of the few 'classic' MGE servers left. I don't like change! Kidding but still i kinda prefer v7 over v8.

srcds has a weird 'glitch' where if a server sits empty on a map too long, it becomes super jittery. i put in a command to refresh the map every X hours or so, to hopefully avoid that happening. regardless, i havent been too happy with the uptime from my current provider (in kansas city, mo) so i am going to be migrating over to an nfoservers box (chicago) over the next few days. if you've favorited the justplay mge server, you will simply need to re-add 'mge.justplay.tf' into your favorites list, and the dns will correctly parse into a numeric ip. same goes for the surf servers.
