that was hard to watch. Wanted silva to come out and respect weidman instead of fuckin around like he did last time and thats just what he did. shame it ended in such a lame way, would have been a good one. one side of me thinks his career is over but another side makes me feel like he won't go out on this note. he wants to cement his legacy.

Oh my god. I'm not a doctor, but I'm reasonably certain legs do not work that way.

How is that a "lame" way? The leg check is a great answer to Silva's kicks.
Sure it isn't a spectacular ending for us spectators, but if you think about it you can appreciate it.

Just look at that slow-mo, Weidman makes Silva hit solid bone.

depends what the doctor says but there has been several incidents like this and athletes still did great comeback.

example henrik larson injury took him 8 months to recover and he became better than before

That's not a fluke, that's what happens when you throw leg kicks with reckless abandonment and it gets checked. It's way more common in kickboxing, which is why you don't see a lot of leg kicks in Muay Thai/Kickboxing because everyone checks kicks.

I've been a lifelong MMA fan, and as long as I can remember, Anderson Silva has been on top. As much as I've wanted him to lose in the past, (vs Sonnen), this is the most disastrous way to leave the sport.

I'm glad I was able to witness the greatest mixed martial artist to ever live.

Silva is my favourite MMA fighter since Cro Cop. Sad to see the fight end like that. Even if he recovers from that injury, he'll never fight the same... it's like that for most athletes :(

Ugh i was watching that live and almost spit out my drink. When he started screaming on the canvas i felt horrible...even if he comes back he won't be the same. An injury like that takes alot out of you, and he's 38 as it is. Sucks because he had such a legacy behind him and was the only champion that continually finished fights. I do hope he manages a comeback, would like to see him go out on a winning note and not have his career end this way.

Also kinda shitty to not see Weidman get the respect he deserves. Everyone called the first fight a fluke, and then this happened. I still don't see how a knockout is a "fluke"..Silva toyed with him (like he does with all his opponents) but got caught. Out of the entire time between both fights (about 3 rounds total) he won all 3, and dominated in every aspect. He threw a perfect leg check on both kicks this time, and if you didn't see the interview with Silva's trainer...he actually broke the front of his shin on the first checked kick...then fractured both bones on the second checked kick...that's impressive timing to be 2 out of 2 on check's and have that be the result.
