KhakiI don't understand, what am I looking at that's special

"Upcoming Tournaments for December 2013"

I mean, when was the last time they published a monthly list of tf2 tournaments on the official site?

oh

yeah I guess that's kinda cool, still I wouldn't get your hopes up, since valve has openly expressed apathy towards competitive tf2

They have always done this. They even did one for i46, the issue is that the real views from teamfortress.com come from the blog posts. When it comes down to views and likes (facebook etc) the news section is irrelevant.

Promoting the biggest tf2 lan of history and promoting a ultiduo tournament of a rather small scene like middle east fortress is a totally different thing. They have made comp related posts before but only for really big lans/tournaments and never in a "Tournaments this month" format.", I dont want to get my hopes up too much but this is looking great

Also you underestimate tf2 news section, even not being the one on the main page it still brings thousands of visitors to any site, and has crashed a few sites in the past

The TF2 blog is the only reason that Gang Garrison 2 was ever popular for an extended period of time.

If they wanted to support TF2 they could port all the changes to the demo system that they made in CS:GO to TF2.

Even posting in the news section is a big deal. There are a lot of tf2 communities who have bots on their forums that automatically create threads for any new activity on teamfortress.com. I first saw this update on TF2Maps.net, for example.

This is pretty great, not asking for too much, but I wish that they also posted it on the facebook page since it's more likely to gain more views that way. Not many go to the news page I believe.

Someone could email them and ask them to facebook it. It dosn't cost them anything.

Hey guys.

MrPoT4tOMaybe they sent an email saying "hey we are doing this and that"

This is what I did...... primarily to attract all the Asian/Middle East stragglers... but now signups for both the Asia Mash Potatoes and Middle East Ultiduo event have doubled with many Americans now so it's kind of a double-edged situation.

Although the website URLs are self-explanatory, must remember to clearly state the event regions next time..
