It won't let me launch CS:GO because of this and I get a pop up similar to this about pando media booster everytime i restart my computer. This happened after I got a BSOD while streaming. I have no clue how to fix these. I had one a long time ago with a different file that I was never able to fix and it stopped me from installing League of Legends. It was fixed when I reformatted my hard drive for other reasons. I'd like to actually fix this without reformatting my hard drive again. pls help thx

Hey, try this http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html The windows repair tool I downloaded helped me to fix a firewall error a while ago and a .dll error. If worst comes to worst try reinstalling it! Good luck!

this might sound silly, but i had a similar odd problem where i couldn't finish downloading files. it happened most often with csgo. turns out i had a bad stick of ram that was causing the download to fail.

http://www.memtest86.com/

run it with 1 stick in at a time so you can easily tell which one is the bad one. hope it helps.

There are several ways you can approach this. Without seeing that CBS.log file, I have no indication of your actual problem. You could certainly attempt to copy a good copy of the file over the old one.

Open a command prompt, type: cd\ and press enter, then dir comctl32.dll /s. It will give you a directory listing of that file. You will most likely see it in many locations. Copy one of the good files over the top of the old one.

This won't fix any other underlying issues, but if the file is just corrupted, it should be helpful. If you are running Windows 7 x64, the file should be 633,856 bytes in size.

I think W7 x86 will be 530,432 bytes.

So the path to the file says the folder inside of WinSxS is called x86_microsoft.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_5.82.7601.18201_none_ec80f00e8593ece5, but I don't have one of those. If you could tell me how to get full control over my windows files, or at least enough access to make folders and move files, I could probably make the folder and fix it.

BUMPING WITH AN UPDATE/PLEASE HELP:

I've tried lots of different ways to take ownership of the windows folder but i still cant mess with files. I've found the folder that my error message refers to, but I can't copy over one of my regular COMCTL32.dll files. System restore isn't an option because the only restore points that it offers me are after the corruption happened. Does anyone know a reliable program for repairing dll files or some way windows can do it besides sfc /scannow ?
