1:33 PM - ALL I DO IS TURN UP: Is this email regarding tf2 to be interpreted as just you don't want writing for next season
1:34 PM - ALL I DO IS TURN UP: or do you not want writing for playoffs this season
2:02 PM - Few is now Online.
2:03 PM - Few: It is effective immediately.
2:03 PM - ALL I DO IS TURN UP: k

2:13 PM - ALL I DO IS TURN UP: do you mind if I ask why you're dropping the lower divs out of curiosity - is it just not enough page hits?
2:24 PM - Few: It wasn't just one thing, but it came down to having a limited budget and getting the best ROI out of it.

not too surprising really, open/IM had awful writing for pretty much every season prior to this one and i doubt it was seen as a worthwhile set of coverage to have, and my understanding from talking to rk in the past is that the tf2 eseanews budget was like very tiny per calendar year (i'd guess like $500) and it was always right at or decently above the budget because of having three divisions covered at once

Awful writing aside I know when I was in open I was always really excited by the chance to be mentioned by name in the official articles. It's sad to see these go. They've been something I look forward to every week.

mirroring what others have said, I really enjoyed the articles this season for all divisions. I wouldn not mind donating a few dollars every month if people would like to be compensated for their time to continue them under the tf.tv banner.

Very unfortunate that this has come to pass. DJC explains it quite well I believe. I will try to honor my fallen brethren by continuing to provide the very best content I can. I will not be able to hold up to their combined effort and standard of writing, but I will do my best.

I thought you guys did an excellent job and are all fine writers. I hope you continue to find outlets for your voice, and when you do please share it with us all. Lord knows people will need the break after seeing me murder the English language the way I do.

GeknaiirWe need the return of tf.tv articles.

i think conductor is banned from tf.tv. and as far as i know the rest of us who had posting access before the purge do not have it anymore.

i already have like half the preds for open playoffs written so i might as well finish em. from the limited time i've had to see some of the "inner workings" of esea news, it seemed like tf2 was a continuous afterthought and pretty much confirmed for me that tf2 is really not important to their community. i appreciated the opportunity by Killing to get paid for doing something i like doing, and for Few for being professional about everything, but its pretty obvious to me that esea is not interested in making any moves forward for the majority of the TF2 community.

i think eseanews tf2 turned into an afterthought but early on, rk tried his ass off to push it and made sure good articles ideas were being thrown around and tried to get some quality content out and from what i know, few and all the other dudes were digging it but the article quality tanked really hard at one point and never recovered until it was too late.

it was unfortunate that right when esea needed its tf2 writing division revamped was when rk got super busy with his work and basically couldn't be around anymore. there were 2 straight seasons where the writing was unsupervised and pretty bad and that was when you'd see, for example, prediction articles come out after half of the week's matches had already been played.

I've really been thinking about writing a few articles here and there about main/IM, since I know more people from those divs. In no way is that a shot on open, I just haven't been able to keep up with the newer players. The annoyance has been having to log into VPN to see the ESEA website, and I am still pretty sore about the banning. So, my question is this; if there is a good Cevo push, would people like Cevo only articles?

Yes. Put them on this site though with links to CEVO's stuff when it's relevant.
