Goliathus Speed vs. Control

Hi, I am deciding on a new mousepad and I have read through the other threads about Puretrak and QCK+, but I was just wondering what the difference between Goliathus Speed and Control editions are. Some people (including Razer) say that speed is less friction while others say it is reverse (and counterintuitive). I currently play on a high sensitivity because I am playing on a $3 mousepad that is too small for lower sensitivities. My purpose in getting a larger mousepad is to lower my sensitivity because I think it will help my aim a bit. So, for someone who wants to lower their sensitivity, is Speed or Control better?

Is there a reason you don't want to go cloth? If you're just looking for more mousepad real estate, the QCK (not even the +) offers plenty of space to play up to 12in/360, with most mice.

That said, I haven't given the speed/control a shot so your mileage may vary.

Um Goliathus is cloth. And I haven't decided that I don't want Puretrak or QCK, but I want to understand all of the options first.

Just buy a PureTrak Talent.
Edit: It's on sale now I believe, $16.50 or something, pretty cheap, ordered mine with extra $20 shipping to my country here, still worth it.

the talent is machine washable and big, no real reason to buy anything else, unless the qck+ or qck heavy is significantly cheaper. The artisan hein and artisan hayate are also pretty good.

the control just felt bad when I tried it, just like an uneven surface

I get that the Talent and QCK are good, but I just want to know what the difference is between Speed and Control on the Goliathus.

I have the control version. The control version is basically a more grooved surface, almost like a fine mesh. The speed version is supposed to be super smooth so it doesn't "grip". Hope this helps.

The goliathus control has a slightly rough texture whereas the speed is very smooth.

I play with a really low sense and I used to use the control. It did the job just fine but I switched to the speed and I like that a little more. Both are great pads tho.

I'm just gonna say that I thought the talent felt awful when I tried it. Control is good for whatg it is, a very resistant mousepad that lasts a while. speed is just a fast soft pad(from what i remember) and qck is pretty solidly balanced.

I've spent most of my time using the control but I have both. The difference in resistance as far as mouse movement is negligible. The control simply gives you more tactile feedback against your skin as your fingers and parts of your hand rub across it while you move the mouse. I found more feedback to be a good thing since I play at a fairly high sens. (~7 inches). If I played scout all the time at my 14 inches I'd go with speed. The twist is that I just switched to only using speed because my control got worn out. Expect the control to have a shorter lifespan than the speed. It will get dirty faster and will be much more difficult to clean. Little bits of skin from your hands come off and eventually muck it up beyond what is easily cleanable. Go ahead, try and get the crud out of each little pit. So I'm used to my speed one now and I'll say again that at the end of the day the differences are tiny. You'll get used to either and love it. Good series of pads.

I have both the control and the speed edition. Imo both are the same when it comes to actual mouse movement. I just use the control atm because it's bigger than the speed version I have.
