Computer won't turn on

Specs
CPU: i7-4770K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC 1150MHZ 2GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 2x4GB
Mobo: Asus Z87-A
SSD: ADATA SX900 2.5" 256GB SSD SATA 3 Sandforce
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB
PSU: Antec HCG-620M 620W

Recently, my computer turned off randomly and now won't boot back up. No fans or anything. There is one green LED on the mobo that lights up, but nothing else. I checked for exploded capacitors, but couldn't find any. I've tried taking out the GPU and clearing the CMOS, but neither have worked. I did the paper clip test on the PSU and it turned on fine.

Anything else I should try before bringing it in to a shop?

Woah this is a lopsided build. That aside, do you have another PSU to test with? Maybe check all your power connections as well. Try one stick of RAM at a time, check your motherboard's debug display and google the number that comes out.

To me, it sounds like your motherboard went out. Do you have any others to test out your other stuff on?

ignore me, the above is better

The i7 was on sale so I said why not.

Thanks man. Tried 1 stick of RAM, nothing happened. Not sure what you mean by the motherboard's debug display. It won't even turn on.

I will try another power supply soon.

If the mobo is dead, is a nicer/more expensive one worth it? Any suggestions?

Wow. Really appreciate it, thanks.

FogDid you overclock the CPU?

I just used Asus EZ mode to performance mode, which bumped it up to ~4.2 GHz.

Just tried my brother's PSU. No luck. Got it down to the CPU or motherboard.

Can't find a computer store that will be open tomorrow. I guess I'll read a book or study...

I had the same thing, turned out my power supply died

No idea what else it could be since your PSU is fine

not that he's giving any advice here, but if you are ever tempted to take advice from alfa, read the following and move along: Alfa is a tech wizard

^^ This

Probably for the best...since the mobo in your situation will be cheaper to replace than the proc. Unfortunately stuff like this happens and it's completely random...if it makes you feel any better my motherboard died 2 weeks ago during pre-match just before i was about to ready up lol.

You have weird ways to make people feel better, it just made me feel anxious about my MB.

If that is true, I will take it. Fans are generally easy to replace. (depending on model, but they generally are pretty easy)

I don't really like ATI video cards and TBH (I am not trying to be mean at all) but that card is not worth 500 bucks. I am not sure why ATI priced that so high, but it was around 80 more than the Nvidia counterpart. But anyways, tell me what manufacturer and I can help you repair it if you still want to use it.

At the time I bought it retail for 500 which it was worth because it was the first eyefinity 6 card available. If everything was perfect today I could probably get 300-350 CAD now but I'm not going to bother because I don't care. If you want to pay shipping + 50$ you can have it. Since it's still heavy discount I'll probably stuff some surprises in the box for a community member.

Thanks for the offer, but it doesn't really beat the one I have in my main computer so it would just end up in a box. And my wife doesn't even use the other desktop, so it wouldn't matter.
