The CS footage looked really nice, considering it's still a controller. Looks great in all the games they used it with.

They're taking suggestions for games to show off with it in the comments.

this controller makes sense

I would like footage of something designed with it in mind, though
something other than keyboard action mapping

I wonder if trackpads will be the new analog stick, especially with how precise the steam controller looks.

The CS:GO footage looked really slow compared to how i went through the course when i did the tutorial. So we haven't quite solved the problem.

Yeah. It showed 43.3 seconds at the end. I'm gonna see how long it will take me.

Edit: First try: 44.5 seconds but after a couple of times I got it down to 35.7 secs.

Well the controller is pretty new, so the guy doing it probably doesnt have a ton of experience with it yet.

He could also just suck at games.

See how he works at Valve that isn't that likely and you would think that they would practice to make sure that it looked good.

The direct input didn't look that great on Civ5, needs some accelleration on the mouse input to make it easier to get across the screen. That said, that's all just software implementation- the game hasn't been designed for it. It's a pretty impressive demo and I could definitely see myself playing tons of games, even single player first person shooters with one.

That's honestly really impressive. This is easily a step above the 360 and Dualshock controllers, and might make console FPS games NOT a complete pain and chore to play.

when was the last time you saw a game trailer where they used a good player? trick question because you probably haven't.

this is the only one I can think of, but I don't even know if this is official.

It's still way better than current controllers, and will be even better once they get the actual pad in the middle set up.

e: Also that HAVE online trailer is legit.

implying they already aren't

The controller looks pretty great. The guy was using it very slowly though, I guess it's to better show how it works.

Aiming with the touchscreen on the Nintendo DS in first person shooters like Brothers in Arms was actually pretty comfortable - it looks like this is similar.
