TF2 crashes every time tournament mode starts from the looks of it.

Edit: I managed to fix it by using my own hud in my custom folder, I guess I'll update this post if I find what the problem is with the hud used in lawena

When I playback a demo using this the weapon I am holding is constantly switching between the model for reloading and normal.

That's been happening since time immemorial for demos to do graphical glitches like that.

When I play back the demo without lawena its fine though. Also just noticed health and ammo are not showing up and the overall video quality is a bit jittery and grainy. :/
Some of that is from encoding but even before its pretty bad.

I have this problem too....how to fix? :(

e:

It's just kinda dumb cause Lawena is perfect except for this bug.

Hey dude, hope you see this, I figured it out. It's a weird issue with custom fonts in HUDs from best I can tell.

How I fixed it:

a) Make sure your Custom HUD is actually in your custom/userstuff folder inside your TF2 folder, not the Lawena custom folder.

b) Make sure your Custom HUD and custom configs are all inside the same userstuff folder and not split up. (so custom/userstuff/cfg and custom/userstuff/resource and custom/userstuff/scripts is how your folder structure is setup)

c) Make sure none of your config files inside your custom/userstuff/cfg folder are named recording, settings, or recbindings.

d) Attach the following to the end of your autoexec in your custom/userstuff/cfg folder (make sure it is the end):

sv_cheats 1
exec recording.cfg
exec recbindings.cfg
exec settings.cfg

e) Now if you load Lawena and check the userstuff folder to use it, it should work correctly.

I've seen a lot of videos with choppy killfeeds lately, is it because of this new version or another recording tool? I always used v3.0 but for some reason tf2 wont start :/

I'm not really sure what you mean by choppy killfeed. It's a static image that has no transition and appears and disappears immediately

I mean... they look too compressed and you have to watch the video on fullscreen to read the killfeed

This has everything to do with the font used and YouTube resizing

Quantic has been doing an amazing job with Lawena, from the autoupdater to custom settings and even going out of his way to help me out with issues with my tf2... He's an amazing dude that deserves a lot of props.

Getting a broken demo system like tf2 to work so good like he did with lawena is an awesome job

Well I have fixed all my other problems, but now the Start Recording button(P) isn't working. The other binds work fine.

Is your rendered frames folder full? I think it can only hold through "p" or something and then the bind won't do anything.

I hope you're monitoring this because I've had one hell of a confusing night. First, Lawena was telling me it couldn't replace the custom folder, so I checked the permissions on it, it was read only so I turned that off. Same error. Turns out I have a fairly common bug with Windows where it sets read only permissions on folders and nothing can change it. In the end, I replaced the custom and cfg folders manually with the vpk's and HUD I wanted, but there was still the problem of Lawena trying to replace the newly filled custom/cfg folders again. I suppose this is where it becomes LWRT relevant. Before I found the read-only issue, I tried resetting the recording settings I was using and I found that if I didn't save the changes to the settings then I could launch TF2 without the "cannot replace custom" error but I wouldn't have any LWRT configs/files. After replacing the cfg/custom folders manually, the tool works like normal.

Have you tried reinstalling lawena? My installation was acting funny a little while ago (not responding/closing itself suddenly etc) and reinstalling fixed it. Might not necessarily solve your problem though

Question for you guys but lately it seems my Lawena thirdperson settings haven't been working- I push 5 to make the camera closer but nothing happens. I type in console my desired thirdperson values (for a good camera angle) cam_idealdist (insert value here) and nothing happens. Just wondering if this has been happening to anyone else and if it has, how you solved it. Might have to just reinstall lawena but i don't wanna have to do that

java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "98/steam.exe": CreateProcess error=2

Every time I try to start tf2, there is a timeout for 120 seconds and it does not open. I've tried reinstalling it but it has not fixed it. Is anyone else getting this? Do I have to create a file for this?
