hi guys, it's been a while since i've posted something of mine here. what i end up saying may end up being a bit of text so if you just want to see the clip and nothing else here it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWmkxfFkXWk

at the beginning of the summer i told my good friend and editor cjc i was going to spend this summer getting better at editing. i started with this video, and i'd like to consider this my way of finishing off the summer. i set out with the goal of being in funky visions from the start, but at this point regardless of if what i've done is enough, i'm very happy with my progress i've made over these two months and that's enough for me.

i'd like to personally thank everyone on tftv for helping me out from the beginning and putting up with my posts. i first put colours here to an incredibly supportive reception in late june, and everyone has been nothing but kind and helpful since. because of this, i'd really really like to give back in any way possible. it may not be much, but if anyone has any questions at all regarding editing, whether it's render settings or colors or effects, please please add me. i'd be more than willing to help out with any trouble you may be having, as well as make a tutorial for anything requested. there were so many people that helped me when i started, i'd like to do the same.

anyway that's the whole spiel, thanks guys and i promise this will be the last shorter length clip i post, whatever comes next will be a full frag video.

That synch with the rockets and the music was just ... woah, amazing. Although I'm not a fan of that moving screen with the sniper shots, but I see what you were aiming at with that.

Good luck man, hope you get accepted.

Pretty cool edit, good luck with getting in :) I still think san francisco is your best edit though

P.S.: It annoys me that you name everything in lowercase xD

Looks like you took my advice into consideration which is nice to see, I definitely think it's an improvement over your other clips.

I've noticed that all these funky vision app clips are all following the same style, even down to several camera moves that are getting over used now (the camera pan behind a static prop such as the mesh fence).

I feel like all you aspiring editors are basically trying to copy-paste someone else's style.

Just an observation.

I really liked it. In my opinion this clip is no where near as good as "san francisco" and "maybe tomorrow". Which are fucking incredible.

at the very least you could support him, even if you didn't like the clip

>The content owner has not made this available on mobile.

I'm totally ignorant so this question isn't intended to be snarky or accusatory, but is this like, the default Youtube setting for all videos that are uploaded? Why would someone _not_ make their video watchable via Youtube mobile?

What do you mean by "support"?

Editors share clips, people give feedback, that comment was my 2c.

If you use some songs it gets auto-blocked by Youtube and you cant do anything about it

you're welcome to your opinion, but I don't believe that's true. do I take inspiration from other editors? sure, but I think my style is unique from others and I never once set out with the intention of copying another editor's style.

in regards to all the app clips being the same, I don't think that's true. here's a sampling of some app clips from the past year, both accepted and rejected.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAp-yzf82uQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLDzjlMq6Ag
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qN1Rfpbveio
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqL4hWbAooE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZs7QUMRocY

I think there's a wide style of editing present there, and to call them all the same isn't doing justice to the editors.

again, I'm not trying to be argumentative as you're entitled to your opinion as am I, I just wanted to give my side on the topic.

there are so many subtleties that show how much work you put into this. great job, once again!
but, like everyone's saying, i don't really feel like this was the best work you've done this summer. the style and feel of "maybe tomorrow" and others like it were just so... unique.

I don't think that statement is true, give me some examples. Sure some editors take bits of another editor's style to come up with their own but its not to an extent where it is that noticeable or can even be considered copying someone else's style. I try to make sure each funky application I accept brings something new to the group.
