ALMIE'S RECORDING TOOL (ALPHA, WORKS WITH STEAMPIP

I load a demo and the demo doesn't actually play. I click "Resume" in demoui and using "demo_resume" and it remains paused. I can use goto but playback doesn't seem possible. When I watch demos without the tool they seem to work fine.

EDIT: I'm not sure how I fixed it.. but I fixed it.

Admirallemaidosdoesnt appear that srcdemo is working with almie recording tool since theres only tga files visible on the folder once u stop recording as srcdemo only pick up tga files when its there :(
Yeah, I don't really know how srcdemo works and i haven't ever used it, so i don't know how to integrate it, and I will add it to the list of things i will look into, but at the bottom I am afraid, as there are more important things that I need to do first.

Srcdemo intercepts all the TGA's being written into the designated recording folder. It stores them in the memory and will merge as many frames as you designate with the blendrate. It will then write the blended TGA file into the designated output folder.

I'm assuming since srcdemo works off of Lawena's a_0000 naming system that might be the reason it isn't working?

I'm pretty sure SrcDemo intercepts anything written to the folder when its mounted. Whether it blends it on the other hand, is dependent on if its a tga file.

AlmieHello everyone, it is me, the creator of this tool.

Error 2 means file not found - it couldnt find your "custom" folder to back up. Make sure it exists. There is a chance this is caused also by another problem in the code which should be fixed in the next version, which is going to be out soon. Weird thing is, it only happens to some people.

Error 32 means the file is being used by another program - make sure your TF2 is closed and that you dont have something from the tf2 folder open like, editing configs etc.

New version out soon, stay tuned!

after restarting my computer with nothing open, reinstalling the tool, and literally making sure everything is closed, it STILL say error 32, i'm not sure why.

You shouldn't need to do anything special to get srcdemo to work with whatever recording method, be it manual or 3rd party tool like Lawena or Almie. And I wouldn't bother trying to integrate the 2 programs, it literally saves you the time of launching 1 other extra program and adds unneeded complexity.

For those having trouble:

Make sure that after you have picked the folder you want srcdemo to look for frames (where TF2 will save frames), you don't have that folder open in explorer. Srcdemo cannot mount folders that are active in explorer. It should just work.

Furthermore, try launching Srcdemo in debug mode (use the debug exe in the folder) and read the log, most of it is self-explanatory.

See my thought is that it takes the a_0000-a_X names as intercepted from the designated folder, blends them and names the output frame a_0001, and so on and so forth. Hopefully that clarifies what I meant.

Someone needs to fix the PLDX particles, the explosion particles can be seen through walls.

I'm having this exact problem, and it's only occuring with the tool.

Made a little recording test for this tool, I really like it now that it has support for custom skyboxes and particles.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHzCDhxkSBM

On a slightly unrelated note, is there a way I can do slow motion in-game? I can edit the demo to play slowly at a certain range of ticks, and it works, but when I record its all in full speed.

Netgraph and text chat persist even in Killfeed Only mode.

I had to manually disable them when the game launched.

I love how you have the copyright logo in the bottom right even though I very highly doubt that you went to the patents office and got the tool copyrighted. :P

Actually, you only need to go to the patents office for trademarks. If you made something you have the copyright. Besides, the half-flipped page in the corner looks pretty cool imo :3
