hey guys so currently im having this tf2 issue. it basically consists of tf2 not saving my options, some examples of these options include hitsound enabled, damage text above enemies, hitsound enabled, game volume. i feel like i may be going full retard and that there is an easy fix, but maybe there isnt.

edit: i uses chris's max frames and aarons crosshair switcher. not sure if these pieces of information are relevant.

are all of these options saved in a config? if they are then it should work. there are console commands for volume and hitsound (right now custom hitsounds don't work on non-steampipe servers). atm neither tf2 nor steam is saving changes i make in either steam preferences or in-game menu but options i have defined in my config work fine. most options in tf2 menu and advanced menu have console commands, so you should be fine if you add them to your config. as for damage text that's obviously hud-related, if you've reinstalled your hud in the proper directory I have no clue what the problem could be.

Do you have steam cloud sync enabled?

If so, the sync could be reverting old settings arbitrarily

I had this problem with tf2 before and it was related to steam cloud. I now have this problem again after switching to steampipe, almost as if it's reactivated steam cloud automatically but it says it is off.

My options are in a config, so no luck there. At the moment the only things that aren't saving are some binds, but they're in my autoexec. Hopefully the update tomorrow will fix it.

Are any of your .cfg files read-only?

I'm having the same problem as OP, at first I had my config.cfg set to read only but I changed that and nothing is saving, hopefully Steam will fix it on the 30th.

EDIT: Now I'm crashing after loading screen, this is getting frustrating.

tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg "100" *
tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg "100" *
tf_dingaling_volume "1.00" *
