swagman22Excuses and cope

A bad cast can always be forgiven, especially if you are new to it. Even one as poor as the one you put on. A shit personality, on the other hand, can and will permanently taint your reputation. From the messages that people have been sharing here and elsewhere, there were people trying to support you despite your consistently egotistical and arrogant behaviour. At every turn, however, you push blame onto everyone else but yourself.

You struggled in both the casting component (dictation, pacing, language), and also the storytelling and narrative, where game knowledge is incredibly important. No caster comes out the gates having mastered both. Some come with great insights and need to work on introducing that knowledge. Others are great on mic but lack deep understanding of the game. Go back and watch your cast. Do you SERIOUSLY think you did a good job? That you did not have many aspects of your performance that you could improve? From your messages, it seems that you thought that you would waltz right in and revolutionise the art of the cast.

This goes to my broader point in that you have a terrible personality that no amount of practice and coaching would fix without some serious self-reflection. Were there technical issues? Shame. A good caster adapts, communicates with production to solve the problem, and in the event that doesn't work gets on the STV and gets the job done. What they don't do is whine about production and a secret cabal of HL Casters (no flame, but lmao imagine) that just don't want new talent to take their gig in a 20 year old video game. You believe its everyone's fault but you, your attitude stinks.

Siyo was being very patient with you, and I think kinder than he really needed to be. The worst thing now is that the bad cast wouldn't have ended your 'career in casting', but you actions after the fact and this thread certainly has. Grow up.
