I dont think i did a good job. I think i did a great job.
keep watching my frag movie. PLS
A bad cast can always be forgiven, especially if you are new to it. Even one as poor as the one you put on. A shit personality, on the other hand, can and will permanently taint your reputation. From the messages that people have been sharing here and elsewhere, there were people trying to support you despite your consistently egotistical and arrogant behaviour. At every turn, however, you push blame onto everyone else but yourself.
You struggled in both the casting component (dictation, pacing, language), and also the storytelling and narrative, where game knowledge is incredibly important. No caster comes out the gates having mastered both. Some come with great insights and need to work on introducing that knowledge. Others are great on mic but lack deep understanding of the game. Go back and watch your cast. Do you SERIOUSLY think you did a good job? That you did not have many aspects of your performance that you could improve? From your messages, it seems that you thought that you would waltz right in and revolutionise the art of the cast.
This goes to my broader point in that you have a terrible personality that no amount of practice and coaching would fix without some serious self-reflection. Were there technical issues? Shame. A good caster adapts, communicates with production to solve the problem, and in the event that doesn't work gets on the STV and gets the job done. What they don't do is whine about production and a secret cabal of HL Casters (no flame, but lmao imagine) that just don't want new talent to take their gig in a 20 year old video game. You believe its everyone's fault but you, your attitude stinks.
Siyo was being very patient with you, and I think kinder than he really needed to be. The worst thing now is that the bad cast wouldn't have ended your 'career in casting', but you actions after the fact and this thread certainly has. Grow up.
sandblastyeah man this got 100 pages idk if ur gonna cast soon
Oh no im so scared of 100 pages. I got 1000 pages.
If anyone is doing a Tf2 HL broadcast and will let me commentate, or provide me funds needed to start a broadcast team for TF2 Highlander please let me know. I have no interest in solo commentating tho.
And Ill happily return to fireside casts at any time as well.
BEST QUALITY: Works well with others.

Getting slandered and doxxed is fun and cool, but being able to dunk a basketball is even better.
siyohello,
1 - prior to the cast you and your cocaster (swift) were shown how to setup castingessentials. your cocaster, also having his first case for the first time, had his setup and was asking questions during the setup, you had not signalled you were having problems setting up the config up up until <30 seconds before the teams were readying up. the setup takes <5 minutes and the fact we were in vc 15 minutes prior and you spent 40 minutes (we were in vc 9:15, match started 9:50) not signifying you needed help is a deflection of blame
2 - you made no indication during the stream that there were issues with the vdo.ninja relay -- for every tab open of vdo.ninja, i have to take a chunk of bandwidth from my own connection to relay. when i had checked the vdo.ninja tab of my setup, you had opened 4 maybe 5 tabs of the vdo.ninja relay at a bitrate of 5000, causing the pixelation. in no time during the cast had you made this aware to me nor your cocaster. once it was made aware on the 3rd map, i setup a screenshare via discord because you were hogging my bandwidth by having 4 tabs of the vdo ninja relay open--in reality you only need one. you also were very insistent on casting from the producer's pov, saying that it is more vital to cast from the stream's pov over your own view in the stv. considering you had a 3 monitor setup, it is your job to pay attention to discord chat as tf2 productions rarely ever have the producer speak

3 - your inexperience did not get you kicked off the cast, it was your blatant lying and multiple direct attacks (going as far as to attack a rgl player's relationship with their parents) that led to your removal
the screenshots above show me taking accountability for the pixelation and making ado with the unfortunate circumstances, but to go as far as to personally attacking members of this community and presuming you would get a second chance lost your chance at any future appearance on a stream which, frankly, we do as a hobby and not as a living for our careers

What are you talking about?????
1 - Mostly lies/inaccurate, just trying to cover ur ass.
2 - Same, mostly lies/inaccurate, same as 1.
3 - What you say got me booted occurred after I was already booted!!!! You decided ud go with swift and gray at 12:51 AM. Provide evidence of the supposed blatant lying, direct attacks, and the attack on this rgl player's relationship with parents prior to. THX

So these first two screenshows show I ask jayy/siyu if we can run it back next week. Y/n question. Says they have notes. Great notes from the producer! Not quite.
These notes are not from siyu watching the game, they are notes siyu/jay taken from a call with Grey, Alto, and Taiga. First off, why not include me in the call directly? Second off why are they watching it together and trying to give feedback for Siyu? The feedback isn't for me. Its for the producer. They were giving bad faith criticism with an agenda: they wanted me off of commentary going forwards.
These three names I all know, they aren't just deciding to give their two sense, they weren't trying to make me better. And there was obvious motive for all 3 - Grey (wants the job), Alto (threatened by me/bully/gate keeper), and Taiga (Sad I clipped him and mog all those mommy men beta geek uncs who are toxic without having the skill to back it up). Taiga is like hard core opp.
Looks like Siyo was acknowledging the same issues you pointed out. But he was still willing to help and give you pointers. Regardless, Siyo has a good report with the community. Who are you? Judging by that last sentence you wrote, you have some growing up to do pal.
Siyo has good report with the community? I need to grow up! Well buddy,, you need to learn how to spell! Rapport is the word you are looking for!
Judging by all sentences you wrote, I can say with complete certainty you suck! And id be in real trouble if i stood in good REPORT (lol) with you or a community of similar such smooth brained fellas.
Swagman22 is him. You don't know who I am? Check the kill feed. PWNED
enthrowswagman22 is your cbs news radio mom hot?
very.
oh also post the cast
Now, we see I was kicked off gig before any of those messages were sent by me. For reasons that are not coming from a genuine place.
It also struck me as like especially unfair given the numerous systemic mistakes siyu/jayy made on production. They gave me a name cfg and casting hud that DID NOT WORK, sent minutes before broadcast. Neither I nor Swift could get it functional.
RGL names are like entirely different from these players steam names, so I was put in a situation where I had to read off a paper who was who. Siyu/Jayy knew the cfg they sent was not working and decided to start the stream anyways. They tried twice to send a functioning namecfg and it worked neither time. Swift and I were in the call from 830, Siyu joined just minutes before the broadcast. They did not have a properly functioning mic and it was cutting in and out.
The situation would have still been salvageable if the stream cast was functional, but it was not. The VDO ninja we were sent (what the viewers see) did not work the entire night. It was pixelated and stuttering to the point it literally could not be used at all. I asked why siyu didn't just screenshare on discord, no response.
The plan was for me to mostly go off of what the viewer sees instead of STV, and this is especially necessary if you don't have a functioning name cfg. Jayy was also silent during transitions talked maybe once was hard to hear and offered very little support and fixed none of the issues as the broadcast progressed.
The fact there was any semblance of coherent commentary was a miracle, and it is crazy to not give someone a second chance when they were dealing with ridiculous unanticipated mistakes from the production on literally their first cast. Shows gate keeping and a lack of accountability from fireside casts yes, but also the punching down of elitist insiders trying to box out fresh blood they don't like to garner some feeling of superiority.
Shame especially on Siyu, for not stepping up and acknowledging the mistakes they made. Not giving me a shot to commentate again when they knew what I was dealing with, and that what I was dealing with was in large part caused by mistakes they made.
It is also strange that looking back at the twitch chat, no complaints were made about the commentating.
So there's most of the story for those who want it, but I was unwilling to be slandered by someone who fundamentally can't do their job and participates in in-grouping, othering, and gatekeeping.
I fundamentally don't care about this situation, but I dare to document the particular brand of drama, gossip, and cliquiness on the competitive TF2 scene that absolutely kills those passionate about the game to breathe life into it.
I love too how theres this arrogance in terms of the greatness of our RGL HL commentators/casts. If they knew how to cast the game, itd be more popular. The issues with competive TF2 always come back to the individual players, Valve has nothing to do with it.
