please download the old version and replace it when recording for my sanity.

if we're recording snakewater clips then do we just replace the old snakewater map in the maps folder with this?

yea, rename the current version to something you'll remember and put the old version (the one linked above) in your maps folder. The game will just read whatever map file is called cp_snakewater_final1 as the version it runs when it plays the demo.

The truth is slightly more complicated, unfortunately. For optimal results you should use the exact version of snakewater that was used during the match, and the map has been updated 5+ times. You can find most of the versions in the snakewater map thread on this site, but I don't think the most recent old version is there.

Usually the u18 version is enough to fix the skybox, but there might still be weird orange boxes and odd clipping present in various places on the map.

this is the most recent old version from the update a couple months ago and it fixes the clipping as well as the orange boxes

for very old demos you would need an even older version though

took me like 2 minutes to do this fix, save yourself from the ugly snakewater clip in ur frag video, it is a very simple and easy fix

Does anyone have the version between 6/22/21 and 9/16/21? The link above is dead now. The closest version in the Snakewater thread is u49 which is too late. I have the one from right before which works for pre-6/22/21 demos (the one Zanda linked), but it's not exactly the right one.

Thanks that worked, I uploaded a new copy so other people don't have to download the full depot in the future: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AWGfmU-0VsvbeLBAgd1oQJLXktqGAYtx/view?usp=sharing
