8 or 9 EST scrims?

Why is it that every other game I've scrimmed has 8 and 9 EST scrim times or been a lot more flexible for off-times when everyone doesn't have work? Why does nobody want to do earlier scrims here even if everyone is off work or school? Sometimes the attitude is that "it's just cringe" or "not normal" and that attitude makes absolutely zero sense.

Brother I scrimmed Diabotical which had like maybe 20 teams at its absolute peak, and those were teams of 3. People were waaayyy more flexible and we'd schedule around that kind of thing. There are plenty of teams that don't have anyone in school or work at off-times that aren't willing to.

FactsMachine teams of 3

Think this is the key difference. Organizing teams of 6 people, who live across North America is difficult

Except for OW which has 6, CS which has 5 and HL which has 9.

the only reason HL scrims early is so that the people can also play 6s, if HL was the only gamemode id bet good money theyd scrim at what we consider "6s times"

HL runs at low-div 6s times and 9:30 is a universal time throughout 6s so I'm kind of confused on how it's put there to avoid conflicting, especially when 9:30s don't usually end at 10:30 every time. Also, what about OW/CS? UGC OW's population was comparable to 6s at one point and they still ran way earlier, so I doubt it's that. It genuinely just seems to be one of those things that's standard because that's how it's been for a long time.

if you work a 9 to 5 and live on the west coast you barely have any time to go home, take a shower, eat some food, warm up before scrim time (depending on commute) even for 9:30 scrims. if you had to show up at in-between 8 or 9 est as a west coaster you would have to speed home and hop on instantly including skipping dinner til after scrim time. i played one season of highlander 5 years ago and we only played saturday through monday and i had monday off from work so it didn't affect me.

isn't it just a tradition thing and about like having a routine
and a routine that means u practice at the same times as the days u have officials
