I'm in the middle of building a PC right now and I was looking at getting this processor: http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemNumber=N82E16819116504

It says it has integrated HD graphics and I was wondering if that would fuck with me being able to use a different graphics card or not.

i have the same cpu. it just means you can get away without actually having a gpu but you wouldn't be able to play games at a good fps with it.

I just finished building my brother a new PC, with an AMD FX-6300. The only time you'll use them is when you get graphics drivers; install your LAN/Wifi drivers from the disk that comes with your motherboard and download the latest driver package from your card's site (don't bother with the disk that comes with your card, those drivers are generally outdated). Once you download and install those, restart your PC and the discrete card will automatically override the integrated.

This is an ivy bridge, and Intel's latest Haswell processors came out a few weeks ago. You would be better off ordering one of those rather than one of these. I hope I'm not too late.

This isn't what actually happens. If you have your dedicated graphics card installed and plugged into your monitor, Windows will temporarily use generic drivers to get your GPU running semi-properly.

The integrated GPU doesn't come into play at all unless you plug your monitor into your motherboard and don't use a dedicated graphics card.

Their only advantages are that they're a bit more efficient and have better integrated graphics, which shouldn't factor in for a desktop (they're really laptop chips tbh). Save yourself a few bucks and get a 3570K.

Haswell is the tock,and a general rule of thumb is to always go with a tock over a tick. In this case meaning Haswell over Ivy Bridge. If the OP is building a new pc, there is no reason to go with a gen 3 over Haswell. Yes, the performance gain isn't as significant, but it's still faster and more power efficient. Also, Haswells are great overclockers, don't know where you read they aren't lol.

The range is a lot wider than with Ivy Bridge but Haswell @4.2GHz will perform at least as good as Ivy Bridge@4.5GHz, which is usually the maximum overclock you can get with air cooling on Ivy Bridge.

The H100i doesn't perform significantly better than the best air coolers in terms of temps.
