HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING YOUR FAVORITE GORGEOUS TF2 STREAMERS MORE?

As TF2 streamers don't get an assload of viewers, ad revenue isn't necessarily a great source of income. What I have noticed, however, is that these guys have the highest viewer retention I've ever seen. It's always the same few hundred folks around every day. I'm looking to help these guys make a bit of cash money for all of their efforts.

So the question is: would you sub to TF2 streamers?

This fall I have a decent paying job, but I like too many streamers to subscribe to them all, and don't know how I would pick who to subscribe to. Will definitely be subbing to TF.TV and maybe cbear if he streams more :3

Why not just have a donate button like Ruwin has now?

DeepWhy not just have a donate button like Ruwin has now?

It's about adding features and new stuff with the sub program. The donation thing is fine if that's the route folks enjoy, but custom emotes and what not are something that a lot of people ask for, and they are only possible currently with a subscription product.

Because donating is not guaranteed income for the streamer, so there would be no incentive to stream more. Also, twitch gets a 50% cut for subs.

If I could donate a variable amount that'd be perfect. Some way to split money between my favorite streamers (personally).

Regardless, subs are not out of the question, absolutely.

As long as there is still an option to watch streams while not being subscribed, I am all for it.

Requiring a subscription to a view a stream (not sure if you were even considering this) would really prevent streamers from gaining new viewers.

I'd support, and I'm wondering is there an option to make chat exclusive to subscribers? Because that would weed out the trolls very nicely.

Not interested in paywalling content. That works fine for major tournaments, but for a game we're trying to grow together, it makes no sense. I'm just trying to figure out ways to generate additional revenue for TF2 streamers, as it's just not there right now.

It's going to be like the Subscribe button on the TFTV channel.

Ah, my bad. I thought subscribing on twitch meant you can't watch the stream unless you're subscribed to it. Apparently it just removes ads, benefits the streamer + twitch etc.

Ok, that's pretty cool. Will sub if this happens.

CondescendingCandlestickI'd support, and I'm wondering is there an option to make chat exclusive to subscribers? Because that would weed out the trolls very nicely.

yes but in a chat of 400 it would not be as needed as it would be with say 1000+
I know there are streamers that use sub only chat (only one that I know of is swifty, a WoW streamer) and most people tend to avoid the stream compared to others that only use sub only mod for things like sub only giveaways
also the sub button gives money to twitch and the streamer instead of donations going onto to the streamer so go john go

the only sub only chats i've seen are the really popular mmo streamers and lethalfrag. after a certain point (around 1-2k viewers) twitch chats turn into monsters(awesome monsters)and sub only makes it readable/friendly

I'd sub to people with consistent streaming schedules or content, but we could really use more of those.

Wait, 50% of the subscribe money goes to twitch? I would've liked it to be a 60/40 (more reasonable) or 70/30 split in favor of the streamers

Wouldn't twitch still get more from subs then they would get from 1 viewers ad revenue from a month? i'm all for supporting twitch cause i love it but would like to be support our small streams more :3

1 viewers ad revenue get's maybe 1 cent for twitch. Over a month.

Each streamer gets like $0.003 per viewer per ad, so say for instance if you see the same ad twice on Seanbud's stream he only gets paid for the first viewing.
