Put it in common/teamfortress2/tf/sound/ui

EDIT: I don't have a hit sound folder and it still works I just copied and pasted my old files...

Wrong. Put it in "common/teamfortress2/tf/custom/hitsound/sound/ui". You can rename the hitsound folder however you want though.

I would warn that until the full switch happens, you can get kicked from the old-style servers for using a custom hitsound if sv_pure 2 is enabled. In a few hours, it should be fine.

before steampipe, my quake 3 sound was fine, but now it's super quiet. Anyone else having that problem?

Yep, I use the quake hitsound and it's barely audible. Adjusting the pitch helped a little bit, but it's definitely not as loud as it used to be.

You have to edit your autoexec.cfg to set the volume of the hitsound.

tehh4ck3rYou have to edit your autoexec.cfg to set the volume of the hitsound.

If you mean setting the tf_dingaling_volume to max, it's still super quiet :/

Don't -frag aim for telling the truth...
I have it the exact same way as him and it works perfectly fine.
