Isn't there an Ammomod mode in MGE?

I'm looking at a video on it now, and I'm sure I've played something incredibly similar in MGE before.

There is, but the actual ammomod mod has much better diversity in maps, pretty much everything from the earlier days of MGE as well as some others, all with the same 4x health boosts.

My team have an ammomod server. I love it.

There's 2 people on the TFTV Ammomod server... so the answer is yes.

I started playing in late '11 and I've never noticed a dedicated ammomod server. All I've experienced of it is MGE's small offering and naturally it seems pretty lackluster compared to what surrounds it in that environment. So I've never gotten the chance to properly try it, and prior to this thread I would have assumed it was more or less just what you get in MGE and probably not bothered.

I'm one of them. Usually it's empty.

Just like mge but worse, avoid surfers if you can, good practice for medics if they want to practice surfing, other than that yea.

Cody uploaded am_variety_b2 and I sent it to Fog a while ago, I don't know if it's on the server yet but I still play on occasion even if b10 is ass garbage.

man i miss the old ammomod servers, where there were 5+ people waiting in line to get destroyed by tictac and thenoid

my favorite was when there were only one or two arenas and everybody had to watch the people play, making juggles even more satisfying knowing that half a dozen+ other people saw it.

I waited in line once to get destroyed by Jaeger. It was glorious.

More on topic: I occasionally play on Fog's ammomod server, but only if I can get someone on my friends list to play. I also have a 4 slot bball server that I use sometimes for Ammomod.
I think the majority of ESEA players practice on private servers with friends these days.

For what it's worth, MGEMod has complete backward compatability with Ammomod gameplay and maps. If you fire up am_variety_test10 on an MGEMod server, it will work and play just as it did in the old days minus a few graphical bells and whistles.

People seem to think MGEMod (the plugin) and mge_training (the map) are inseparable, but they are mistaken. MGEMod is extremely flexible and customizable and can work on essentially any map. In fact, it has spawns already configured for the following:

duels_midair_v2
am_variety_test3
am_variety_test10
mge_training and its many iterations

If you want to play on am_variety_b2 or any of the other ammomod maps, you can make the spawns yourself.

The ammomod he's talking about is an older version of MGE basically. Gran mid was in an enclosed circle with only the mid point and crates. Badlands mid didn't have the houses, only the bridge, train and valley->mid. It was also a lot longer, about 2 times the size.
