flippersMagikarpAnother thing in CoD is that you can oneshot somebody with a sniper rifle(or so I've seen) even if it's just a bodyshot. It doesn't "charge" up like in TF2, it's really just a quickscope bodyshot insta-kill really. Shouldn't headshots be the instant-kill? It's ridiculous how not only do you have aim assist, but with a sniper rifle that can oneshot with a bodyshot...

lynakirbylynaAlso, don't forget the skilled movement. You can bunnyhop and do all kinds of crazy shit, even more than in cs:s
You definitely can't bhop in CoD4. The most you can do with movement that's out of the ordinary is hitting a bounce. It's similar to bhopping only in the sense that it exploits a bug in the engine. To bounce, you need either 125, 250 or 333 FPS. With 125 FPS, you can only hit the short distance bounces. 250 for short (depending on which ones, some of them you end up going too far at the area you need to jump from) and medium. 333 FPS for the ridiculous bounces. 333 FPS is/was actually banned from being used in CoD4's competitive scene because the major advantage you get in jump distance. That includes jumping in general and bounces.

It's kind of crazy that they would ban using a certain amount of FPS but it makes sense I guess.

Sorry my bad then, I just remember watching videos of people doing strafe jumps and being able to bounce.

well I mean you can strafe after jumping. that's how half the bounces are done. you just can't bunny hop (bounce) off of an object that doesn't send you flying into the air.

#1 issue with CoD (at least in America, & on consoles). Parents buy it as a cheap baby sitter for their children, who eventually beg for a headset.

it's a quake3 engine bug that got fixed with mods. long ago 333fps was banned in quake3 too

I'm surprised I didn't think about that. I know for a fact though that you can't bhop in CoD4 the same way you can in Quake, regardless if you're in promod/pam4 or pubbing.

you don't get aim assist either (if anything rather the opposite due to scope fov), and people can fuck you over by buying smokes or flashes pretty easily. theres actually strategy though so that shit's already too far out there for codkids

Derpusyou can still one-shot meds in tf2.

If you either headshot, or charge up for a fully one yeah, but not instantly bodyshot really. Unless I'm mistaken?
EDIT: Unless the medics you been instantly one shotting with a body shot have been low enough HP?

There's potential to not get 1 shot kills with sniper rifles in CoD. But to be fair, with most bolt action rifles you only have to hit their stomach or higher. There's usually 1 semi-auto that only one shots if chest or higher, and the rest are usually only 1 shot kills with only a headshot.

WintersunCoD, just like LoL, is built in a way that even if you're a piece of shit, you feel like you're still contributing to your team. And guess what, they both have huge competitive scenes just because everyone wants to be pro one day and because it isn't extremely hard to be good at either games.

I think the skill cap between LoL and CoD is a lot bigger than ur making it out to be. LoL maybe easy to pick up like cod but u have to practice a lot to reach the skill/knowledge level of a comp player.

At their cores though, both will be very forgiving if you fuck up and can reward shit players in a way they feel they still contribute. Yes, it takes more to be good in LoL because of the steep learning curve but past that, the "top tier" gameplay is pretty fucking shitty.

I think you're giving CoD too much credit. As of the last 5 years, every Call of Duty game rewards newer/bad players for just being in a game lol
