sticky det bug = false
xbow = false
scout's legs = broken

I've created the world's best promod, thank you very much.

As cool as a promod would be (tf2classic or whatever already exists) (no hats, everyone gets 300 fps on max settings), there's already enough arguments for whitelists and map pools as it is, imagine making a promod with a few hundred people arguing whether or not demo stickies need to be unnerfed in the mod, med scout speed as well as a shitton of other possible changes like nerfing scout/hitscan air knockback, making soldier RJs take less hp, giving pyro a LG or fucking with airblast and all that crap people have been ironically or unironically suggesting over the years. The arguments would never end and more people would be mad than happy

What makes you think everyone gets a say? TF2promod wont be some pathetic democracy where we all sit at a round table having gentlemanly discussions whilst sipping tea and eating scones. TF2promod should be an absolute dictatorship, ran by an icefrog-type figure who makes all the major decisions. Sure people can voice their opinions about "how removing all the crossbow buffs was a step to far". But just know that such dissident talk will get you sent to the gulag (blacklisted from the promod).

all i want is fast paced projectile combat and airstrafing

all the gaming audience wants is skins and their stats shown to them in a way that doesnt hurt their feelings

realistically a 'promod' is a terrible idea.

but I don't think a 'tf2 is fucking busted mod' is a bad idea. Unfortunately though the cheats that can be used by modifying game files can really only be fixed by valve (or actually ironically could be fixed by an over-intrusive anti cheat client like ESEA)

Oh no, there aren't enough devs to go around to update tf2? If only there was a way to hire new qualified employees that could pick up the slack. In fact, I really wish passionate people like this existed within the community itself who would be glad to take up such an offer. That would be amazing

TF2 isn't dead, Valve has not stopped working on the game. It's just there is no dedicated team for TF2 and so the speed of new content varies (hence why valve time exists).

I feel like TF2 is on their roadmap somewhere for a clean-up and update, but we just have to be patient.

sell tf2 to worthy companies that can take care of game (like they did in L4D2) might be better instead of having a dead game with literally no new content or bugfixes at all

TheMackey5Yeah, ever since I started playing this game I heared it over and over again, clearly it has to be for real this time 100%

I started playing this game when everyone were saying TF2 is dead.

That was almost 10 years ago.

meh. tf2 doesn't really need updates.

most weapons are balanced and those who aren't can be whitelisted away
adding new items is a can of worms in terms of balance, especially if they went with a heavy update when his balance is good already
casual will never be as good as old pubs but it's at least playable
valve 6s is a dud and pointless to work on
sticky det bug and other little glitches won't break the game on their own, sure fixing it would be nice but eh

idk. I'm not surprised valve has little interest in putting man hours in tf2, they have better projects to work on. it's nothing short of a miracle that a game this old still has so many players but if anything that is more of a reason, in their point of view, to not invest much on something that isn't really that broken
