Wouldn't the game just be better if all hitscan, projectiles, etc. went through friendly players?

Sure it would make spy checking with projectiles at longer ranges easier but its not a huge change.

What does having damage blocked by teammates add to the game?

it wouldn't be fun to be fighting a heavy and then suddenly a rocket appears through the heavy's chest that you never saw

and it kills you

so it's a change that would hurt pubs but probably help comp

edit: you are underestimating how chaotic 32-person pub tf2 seems to new players and how much importance valve attaches to that.

These rockets can go through the heavy at close ranges anyway.

The scenario where a heavy is standing in such a way that a long range rocket passes through him that you couldn't see before it passed through him and hits you for 30 damage and the heavy wasn't just going to kill you anyway is so dumb that I don't think its worth considering.

all hitscan can go through friendly players.

melee however should go through friendly players it's really dumb when 3 people are all trying to melee 1 person and none of them hit cause all of them hit each other...

All hitscan does not go through friendly players. Sniper shots do. Proof in OP.

All hitscan does not go through friendly players. Sniper shots do. Proof in OP.

Ya know what would be dope?!?!? if hitscan knockback worked on teammates. I mean obviously it wouldn't be awesome and people would troll hard with it, but it would be so cool if your soldier buddy rocket jumped and you could give him a boost to go extra far

I want this fixed so badly. nothing irks me more than when my scout who is 5 feet in front of me blocks a rocket and ends up losing us a fight on the flank. I’m okay with rockets being blocked at long ranges I guess, but teammates shouldn’t be able to block teammates’ shots

yes teammates blocking projectiles and hitscan is cancer. especially when u play heavy.
